The joint venture was terminated in 2010 and the group rebranded itself as Hero MotoCorp Limited. The Hero brand name was derived from the first two letters of the partners' names, Henckell and Roth, who founded the Conservenfabrik Lenzburg in Switzerland in 1886 to process fruit and vegetables. The Hero Group acquired the Swiss company in 1995 and expanded its portfolio to include baby food, jam and nutritional snacks.
