Latest Update: Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor has finally launched in India. This sub 4 meter crossover SUV from Toyota is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Fronx with minor design and cosmetic changes in the exterior.
Design & Exterior
Although its a rebadged Maruti Fronx, it gets some minor differentiation in the design department. It gets a horizontal DRL element in the front instead of the NEXA tri element DRL of the Fronx. The rear continues to get connected tail lamp treatment with minor modification in tail lamp design. The front grille is also different and comes with honeycomb pattern instead of nex-wave pattern in Fronx. On the side, the 16 inch alloys of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor also come with a different design than Maruti Fronx.
Interior & Features
The cabin and dashboard layout of the Toyota Taisor is similar to the Maruti Fronx with minor changes in colour shades. The feature list continues to be the same as that of Maruti Fronx with top of the line variant offering features like Heads Up Display, 360 degree camera, paddle shifters, 9 inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless phone charger, wireless android auto/apple carplay, etc.
Engine, Transmission & Fuel Efficiency
Toyota is offering the Taisor with the same powertrain option as that of Maruti Fronx. One can choose from a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol with 5 speed manual or 5 speed AMT auto, a 1.2 litre bi-fuel petrol/CNG with 5 speed manual, and a 1 litre Boosterjet turbo petrol with 5 speed manual or 6 speed torque converter auto.
The NA engine produces 90 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. In CNG it produces 77.5 PS of power and 98.5 Nm of torque. The Boosterjet turbo engine generates 100 PS of power and 147.6 Nm of torque.
On the fuel efficiency front, the claimed numbers of NA engine is 21.79 Km/L in manual transmission option and 22.89 Km/L in AMT option. For CNG its 28.51 km/kg. And for the Boosterjet turbo engine its 21.5 Km/L in manual transmission option and 20.01 Km/L in torque converter AT option.
Dimensions
It measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, 1,550 mm in height and 2,520 mm in wheelbase. Its boot space stand at 308 litres and ground clearance is around 190 mm. The turning radius of Taisor is 4.9 m.

Toyota offers the Urban Cruiser Taisor in 8 different colour options including 3 dual tone colours. Also, one can choose from 5 different variants which includes 3 variants for the naturally aspirated or CNG powertrain option and 2 variants for the boosterjet turbo engine option.
