The Yamaha YZF R1M is one of the most anticipated superbikes in India. It is expected to be launched in January 2023 with a price range of 28,00,000 to 35,00,000 INR. The bike will feature next-generation R-series styling, sophisticated electronic control, supersport braking and suspension performance and a high-performance crossplane engine.
Introduction
The Yamaha YZF R1M is the flagship model of Yamaha's sports heritage lineup. It is based on the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP race bike and features a carbon fiber fairing, a titanium exhaust system and a GPS-enabled data logger. The bike is designed to deliver the pinnacle of performance on and off the track.
Variant and Color
The Yamaha YZF R1M will be available in only one variant and one color option in India. The color option is Carbon Fiber, which showcases the premium quality and lightweight material of the bike.
Engine and Power
YZF R1M is powered by a 998cc inline-four-cylinder engine that features Yamaha's exclusive crossplane crankshaft technology derived from the MotoGP race bike. The engine produces 200 PS of maximum power at 13,500 RPM and 112.4 NM of peak torque at 11,500 RPM. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and a quick shifter.
Fuel Efficiency and Tank Capacity
It will have a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres and a claimed fuel efficiency of 15 kmpl. The bike has a riding range of around 255 km on a full tank.

- Öhlins electronic racing suspension (ERS) for real-time damping adjustments
- Dual-channel ABS system with radial-mounted four-piston front calipers and 320 mm discs, single-piston rear caliper with 220 mm disc
Wheel Size and Weight
It has a wheelbase of 1405 mm and a seat height of 860 mm. The bike weighs 202 kg (wet) and has a ground clearance of 130 mm. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with Bridgestone Battlax RS11 tires. The front tire size is 120/70 ZR17 and the rear tire size is 200/55 ZR17.

The Yamaha YZF R1M will face competition from other superbikes in India such as the Ducati Panigale V4 S, the BMW S 1000 RR M Package, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR and the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.
