India's Triumph fans can celebrate as the well-known British motorbike manufacturer unveils the newest model in its lineup, the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 X. This model, which is reasonably priced at Rs 11,83,000 (ex-showroom), is the first of the Scrambler 1200 range to be introduced into the Indian market. It promises an exciting but affordable riding experience.
Features and Specs
Engine & Transmission: The Triumph Scrambler 1200 X is equipped with a potent liquid-cooled, 8-valve, SOHC, 270° crank angle parallel-twin engine boasting a displacement of 1200 cc. With a bore of 97.6 mm and a stroke of 80 mm, coupled with a compression ratio of 11:1, this engine delivers impressive performance.
It generates a maximum power of 66.2kW/89bhp/90PS at 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 110Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine employs a ride-by-wire system and multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection for precise throttle response. The exhaust system comprises a brushed 2-into-2 configuration with high-level silencers, while power is transmitted to the wheels via an X-ring chain and a 6-speed gearbox. The clutch system features a wet, multi-plate assist clutch mechanism.
Chassis: Featuring a robust tubular steel frame and a twin-sided aluminum swingarm, the Triumph Scrambler 1200 X ensures exceptional stability and agility on various terrains. The motorcycle rides on tubeless aluminum rims, with a 36-spoke 21 x 2.15 in wheel at the front and a 32-spoke 17 x 4.25 in wheel at the rear.
The front suspension comprises Marzocchi non-adjustable USD forks with 170mm of wheel travel, while the rear suspension utilizes Marzocchi twin RSU's with a piggyback reservoir, preload adjustable, also offering 170mm of wheel travel. Braking duties are handled by twin 310mm discs with a 2-piston Nissin axial caliper at the front, and a single 255mm disc with a single-piston floating Nissin caliper at the rear, both equipped with ABS for enhanced safety. The instrument display is a multi-functional LCD unit with TFT display for providing essential riding information.
Dimensions & Weights: The Triumph Scrambler 1200 X features a width of 834 mm at the handlebars and a height of 1185 mm without mirrors. The seat height stands at 820 mm, ensuring a comfortable riding position for a wide range of riders. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1525 mm, a rake of 26.2 º, and a trail of 125 mm. With a fuel tank capacity of 15 liters, it weighs approximately 228 kg when fully fueled.
Fuel Consumption: The Triumph Scrambler 1200 X boasts a commendable fuel consumption rate of 4.4, accompanied by CO2 emissions figures of 105.
Service: Owners can enjoy peace of mind with service intervals set at 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 12 months, whichever comes first.
