Hero MotoCorp’s EICMA 2024 lineup, including the Xpulse 210, Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, and Vida Z, showcases its blend of performance and sustainability across adventure, sport, commuter, and electric models.
The EICMA 2024 (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) has yet again turned heads in the motorcycle world, and Hero MotoCorp is front and centre with its latest lineup. This year, Hero unveiled an impressive array of new motorcycles: the Xpulse 210, Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, and the much-anticipated electric Vida Z. Each of these bikes brings unique features that cater to diverse rider needs, showing Hero’s clear commitment to innovation and its ability to stay competitive in the mid-size and electric segments.
Hero’s entries this year are especially exciting for both enthusiasts and casual riders alike, as they reflect current trends in off-road, sports, commuter, and electric motorcycles. Let’s dive deep into each of these models, exploring their specifications, design elements, performance capabilities, and what sets them apart in their respective categories.
The Hero Xpulse 210 is a significant update to the brand’s off-road lineage, designed specifically for riders who seek adventure both on and off the beaten path. Built upon the strengths of the Xpulse 200, the Xpulse 210 is bolder, tougher, and more performance-oriented.
Design and Build
Hero has put considerable effort into making the Xpulse 210 visually striking and rugged. It sports an aggressive design that resonates well with adventure-seekers. The front is equipped with a larger, high-mounted LED headlight that ensures better visibility during off-road night riding. The handlebars are wider, providing better control, and the seat height is slightly raised, allowing riders to adopt a commanding posture.
The bike’s underbody is protected with a reinforced bash plate, safeguarding essential components from rocks and debris encountered on rough terrains. Additionally, the exhaust system has been lifted higher, enhancing its water-wading capabilities – a must-have for those who intend to tackle rivers and other obstacles.
The Xpulse 210 comes with an upgraded 210cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, delivering around 20 horsepower and 18 Nm of torque. These upgrades not only improve top-end performance but also ensure better torque delivery, which is crucial for handling challenging terrains. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, a welcome improvement over the Xpulse 200’s 5-speed setup, allowing smoother transitions and better control at higher speeds.
With its long-travel suspension and higher ground clearance, the Xpulse 210 is built to handle rocky trails, mud, and steep inclines. Hero has also introduced switchable ABS in this model, which allows riders to turn off the rear ABS, granting them better control over braking while navigating slippery surfaces.
Hero hasn’t held back in equipping the Xpulse 210 with modern technology. It features a fully digital, Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster that offers turn-by-turn navigation, gear position indicators, trip metres, and phone connectivity. This cluster is backlit and optimised for readability under direct sunlight, a thoughtful touch for outdoor adventures. Riders can also access Hero’s Ride Guide app, which provides detailed trip stats and route suggestions.

The Karizma XMR 250 brings a sporty, aerodynamic look with sleek lines, a sculpted tank, and aggressive bodywork. The fairing is aerodynamically designed to reduce drag and enhance stability at high speeds. The bike’s ergonomics have been optimised for comfort without sacrificing performance; riders can lean forward into a sporty position, yet enjoy a seat with enough padding for longer rides.
Hero has introduced dual-channel ABS for added safety, and the bike’s 17-inch alloy wheels provide stability and agility. The bike’s rear has been designed with an upswept tail, housing an LED tail lamp, which enhances its aggressive stance.
Under the fairings, the Karizma XMR 250 is powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates a solid 27 horsepower and 23 Nm of torque. This engine provides a smooth power delivery, allowing the Karizma XMR 250 to excel in both urban and highway environments. It features a 6-speed transmission, ensuring a refined riding experience across various speeds.
The bike’s performance is further complemented by a lightweight chassis, making it agile and easy to handle on winding roads. The suspension setup – telescopic forks in the front and a mono-shock at the rear – ensures a balanced ride, even during aggressive cornering.
The Karizma XMR 250 includes a full-colour TFT display, showcasing information like speed, fuel levels, navigation prompts, and even incoming call alerts when paired with a smartphone. This display also includes a customizable interface, allowing riders to adjust the colours and display modes. Hero has also equipped the Karizma with three riding modes: Eco, City, and Sport, adjusting throttle response to suit different riding conditions.
Hero’s Xtreme 250R targets a rapidly growing audience looking for an everyday commuter with a bit of flair and enhanced performance. Positioned as an upgrade over the Xtreme 200, the 250R is geared towards urban riders who want both style and substance.
The Xtreme 250R’s design takes inspiration from modern streetfighters, with a muscular stance and sharp styling. It features a compact LED headlamp, a sculpted fuel tank, and a short tail section, giving it a robust, edgy look. The handlebar positioning and rider seat offer a slightly upright posture, ideal for city commuting without straining the rider during prolonged rides.
With a more compact body compared to traditional streetfighters, the Xtreme 250R is built for manoeuvrability. The bike's design accommodates nimble handling, and it’s particularly adept at weaving through traffic, making it a strong contender in the urban commuter category.
The Xtreme 250R shares the same 250cc single-cylinder engine as the Karizma XMR 250 but is tuned slightly differently to cater to urban riders. It delivers around 25 horsepower and 21 Nm of torque, with a focus on low-end and mid-range power. The bike’s engine has been optimised to offer quick acceleration, making it ideal for city stops and starts, while still being competent enough for occasional highway rides.
The Xtreme 250R comes with a 5-speed transmission, which has been designed for fuel efficiency and ease of use in stop-and-go city traffic. The suspension is slightly stiffer than other models, providing improved stability during sudden braking or swerving.
For urban convenience, Hero has included a digital instrument cluster that provides essential information at a glance. The cluster offers Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to receive notifications and navigation prompts. The bike also includes dual-channel ABS for increased safety in urban environments, where unpredictable road conditions are common.
Hero’s foray into the electric segment with Vida Z marks an exciting chapter for the brand. As electric motorcycles gain traction globally, the Vida Z presents a viable, eco-friendly option, aimed at urban riders and eco-conscious consumers.
Vida Z has a futuristic, streamlined design with smooth lines and minimalistic styling. The front features an LED headlight with a sleek, angular shape, and the compact body design ensures manoeuvrability in tight urban spaces. The bike is designed with a low centre of gravity, enhancing its balance and making it easy to handle, even for new riders.
The Vida Z is equipped with a 4 kWh lithium-ion battery, which can deliver a range of up to 150 kilometres on a single charge, depending on riding conditions. This battery powers a hub-mounted electric motor that provides immediate torque, making city riding a breeze. Vida Z can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in under 4 seconds, offering quick responsiveness that is especially advantageous in city traffic.
To address range anxiety, Hero has integrated fast-charging capabilities, allowing the battery to reach 80% charge in under an hour. Vida Z also includes a removable battery option, so riders can charge it from the convenience of their homes if needed.
Vida Z comes with a futuristic dashboard, featuring a touchscreen interface with real-time navigation, vehicle diagnostics, and battery status updates. The bike also includes Hero’s AI-based assistance, which provides suggestions on battery optimization and maintenance. Additionally, Vida Z incorporates regenerative braking, allowing riders to recharge the battery slightly each time they decelerate, which is especially useful in stop-and-go traffic.
