The Hero Xtreme 400S is expected to launch in India in early 2024. The bike is a sporty version of the Hero Xtreme 200S, with a bigger engine and more features. The bike is likely to be priced around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Introduction
The Hero Xtreme 400S is a new entrant in the 400cc segment, which is dominated by bikes like the Bajaj Dominar 400, the KTM Duke 390 and the TVS Apache RR 310. The bike aims to offer a balance of performance, comfort and affordability, with a sporty design and a host of features.
Variant and Color
The Hero Xtreme 400S is expected to come in only one variant, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike will be available in three color options: red, black and white.
Engine and Power
The Hero Xtreme 400S will be powered by a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which is derived from the Hero Xpulse 300 concept. The engine is expected to produce around 35 PS of power and 32 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike will have a top speed of around 160 kmph.
Fuel Efficiency and Tank Capacity
It may have a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters, which is slightly smaller than its rivals. The bike is expected to deliver a mileage of around 30 kmpl, which is decent for its segment.
Features
It can come with a lot of features, such as a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlamp and tail lamp, turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, gear position indicator, trip meter and clock. The bike will also have a slipper clutch, a single-channel exhaust system, a side stand engine cut-off switch and an engine kill switch.
Wheel Size and Weight
It will have a wheel size of 17 inches, with tubeless tyres. The front tyre will be 110/70 R17, while the rear tyre will be 140/60 R17. The bike will have disc brakes on both wheels, with dual-channel ABS. The bike will have a kerb weight of around 165 kg, which is lighter than its rivals.
Rivals
The Hero Xtreme 400S will face tough competition from other bikes in the 400cc segment, such as the Bajaj Dominar 400, the KTM Duke 390 and the TVS Apache RR 310. These bikes offer more power, better features and higher brand value than the Hero Xtreme 400S.
