The Basalt is offered in five monotone colors: Polar White, Steel Grey, Platinum Grey, Cosmo Blue, and Garnet Red, with optional black roofs for the white and red variants.
Engine and Performance
The Basalt offers two 1.2-litre petrol engines: an 82hp naturally aspirated unit with a 5-speed manual and a 110hp turbo-petrol with options for a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Fuel efficiency is claimed at 18 km/l for the naturally aspirated engine, 19.5 km/l for the turbo-petrol manual, and 18.7 km/l for the automatic.
Exterior Design
The Basalt retains its original design sketches, featuring a matte plastic finish on body cladding and resembling the C3 Aircross SUV. Its front fascia includes a chrome-lined Chevron logo, a two-part grille, and projector headlamps, marking a first for a C-Cubed model in India.
The profile boasts squared-off wheel arch cladding, a pinched window line, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a sleek roofline. The rear showcases a contoured tailgate, halogen tail lamps with a 3D effect, and a dual-tone bumper.
Interior
Inside, the Basalt shares the C3 Aircross dashboard with upgrades like digital HVAC controls, a larger front armrest, and adjustable rear thigh support. The boot holds up to 470 liters, with roof-mounted rear AC vents.
Features
High-spec variants include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 15W wireless smartphone charger. Citroen's C-Cubed motifs are present on the AC vents and steering wheel.
Safety
Standard safety features include six airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), hill-hold assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
