The next Maruti Suzuki Swift might make its global debut in January 2023. According to rumors, the Indo-Japanese carmaker may display the 2023 Maruti Swift at the Delhi Auto Expo in January. The hatchback will undergo significant improvements in terms of form, functionality, and engine. According to a new media claim, the all-new Swift will have the same powerful hybrid technology as the recently released Grand Vitara. To be clear, the mid-size SUV's strong hybrid variants are in high demand.
The new 2023 Maruti Swift, codenamed YED, would use a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine supplemented by Toyota's powerful hybrid technology. The Swift will be the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the country after this upgrade. According to the report, the hatchback with the powerful hybrid powertrain would get approximately 35-40kmpl (ARAI certified). Its current generation model 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine with manual and AMT transmission guarantees 23.76kmpl fuel economy. The new Swift strong hybrid will also fulfill the future CAFÉ II (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) regulations.
It should be noted that the new Maruti Swift higher variants will only be available with Toyota's powerful hybrid technology. The hatchback's base model will continue to be powered by a 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine producing 90bhp. It will also be offered with a CNG fuel option.
The Maruti Swift 2023 will have a more angular stance and will be based on a redesigned Heartect platform. It might include a bigger infotainment system (new SmartPlay Pro+) with the most recent smartphone connectivity, Suzuki voice help, and OTA (over-the-air updates).
With major visual and functional updates, as well as a new powerful hybrid system, the 2023 Maruti Swift will almost certainly see a price increase. The hybrid models of the hatchback are estimated to cost between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh more than the non-hybrid version. The all-new Swift with advanced hybrid technology will hit showrooms in 2024.
