Honda is preparing to launch a new Midsize SUV competing with other SUVs in the range. New facelifted Honda City is coming too.
Honda has a strong lineup of crossovers and mid-size SUVs ranging from compact to midsize and full-size models. The compact HR-V and midsize CR-V are popular choices in their respective segments. The brand's commitment to quality and reliability makes their SUVs a smart choice for buyers in the market for a new vehicle.
According to Honda, the brand-new midsize SUV for India would start selling in the middle of 2023. In the upcoming months, this new SUV will make its debut worldwide and start selling in India. Honda also announced that starting in 2023, it will add one new model to its lineup in India each year. This announcement coincided with the release of the City facelift.
Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of HCIL, said that the company will strive to develop quicker than last year by extending the addressable market with the new launches. Starting in April 2023, the company's plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan, will expand its daily vehicle production from 540 vehicles to up to 660 vehicles as it gets closer to releasing the new SUV.
A facelifted version of the 2019 City was introduced by Honda Cars India, with prices starting at Rs 11.49 lakh and going as high as Rs 20.39 lakh, ex-showroom.
The upgraded City costs between Rs 15,000–35,000 more than the outgoing model, but the manufacturer asserts that the value provided to the consumer is significantly higher because ADAS technologies are also exclusively given in the manual-transmission versions of the current City. The business has also broadened the appeal of the hybrid-powered models by releasing them in two trims of the facelifted City, the V ($18.89 million) and ZX ($20.39 lakh).
