Latest Update: Hyundai Exter now has a new competition in the form of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor. The new sub 4 meter crossover SUV Taisor has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.7 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Exterior & Design
Compared to Venue, Exter gets a completely different design. The front comes with H shaped LED DRLs. The bi functional halogen projector headlamps are placed below the DRLs. The rear tail lamp assembly too comes with H shaped LED element. The side profile of the Exter is dominated by thick cladding on the wheel arch. Moreover, it gets floating roof design with parametric garnish on the C pillar.
Interior & Features
Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Exter comes with a number of best and first in segment features like standard 6 airbags, ESP, traction control, hill hold, wireless phone charger, highline TPMS, dual camera dashcam, footwell lighting, rear ac vents, voice controlled sunroof, etc.
Hyundai also offers connected car tech feature in Exter with 60+ features including smartwatch connectivity, Alexa home to car function, etc.
Engine & Transmission
Hyundai Exter comes with the same tried and tested 1.2 litre 4 cylinder naturally aspirated Kappa petrol engine with either 5 speed manual gearbox or 5 speed AMT automatic. The power figure of Exter stand at 83 PS and the torque output stand at 113.8 Nm.
Dimensions
Exter sits below the Venue in Hyundai's India lineup. On the dimensions front, it measures 3,815 mm in length, 1,710 mm in width, 1,631 mm in height and 2,450 mm in wheelbase.
Variants & Colours
One can choose from 6 mono tone colours and 3 dual tone colours with black roof. Moreover, there are 5 different variants to choose from i.e. EX/EX(O), S/S(O), SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect.
Segment & Rivals
Tata's micro SUV Punch is the main rival of Hyundai Exter. However, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger also compete with Hyundai Exter to a great extent.
