The Hero HF 100 is the latest entry-level commuter bike from Hero MotoCorp, launched in April 2021. It is the most affordable bike in the Hero lineup, priced at Rs. 49,400 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Introduction
It is a simple and practical bike that offers reliable performance, good mileage and low maintenance. It is designed for daily commuting and rural riding, with a comfortable seat, upright riding posture and easy handling.
Variant and Color
This bike is available in only one variant, with a kick start and drum brakes. It comes in three color options: black with red, black with purple and black with grey.
Engine and Power
It is powered by a 97.2 cc air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.02 PS of power at 8000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox and has a fuel injection system for better efficiency and performance.
Fuel Efficiency and Tank Capacity
The Hero HF 100 claims to deliver a mileage of 73 kmpl, which is impressive for a bike in this segment. It has a fuel tank capacity of 9.1 litres, which gives it a decent range of over 650 km on a full tank.
Features
It has a minimalist design with a round headlamp, a simple instrument cluster, a tubular steel frame and a chrome exhaust. It has telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear for suspension.
It has 130 mm drum brakes at both ends for braking. It also has an i3S (idle start-stop system) that switches off the engine when the bike is idle for more than five seconds, and restarts it when the clutch is pressed. This feature helps in saving fuel and reducing emissions.
Wheel Size and Weight
It has 18-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The front tyre size is 2.75 x 18 and the rear tyre size is 3.00 x 18. The bike has a kerb weight of 110 kg, which makes it easy to maneuver and park.
Rivals
It competes with other entry-level commuter bikes such as the Bajaj CT 100, TVS Sport, Honda CD 110 Dream and Yamaha Crux.
