Volkswagen Taigun to launch on September 23

Volkswagen has announced the launch of its Taigun SUV on September 23, 2021. The bookings for the Taigun are already open. The Taigun is built on the MQB A0 IN platform, similar to the Skoda Kushaq launched a couple of months ago. Volkswagen considers Taigun as a tailor-made SUV for Indian conditions while offering Volkswagen build quality. This SUV is manufactured at the Volkswagen plant in Chakan, near Pune.

What to Expect – The Design

Volkswagen Taigun will feature a smart design with a clean front grille, generous chrome inserts, a stretched-out LED tail-lamp setting and 17-inch alloy wheels. In addition, the interiors come with features like a sunroof, a 10-inch infotainment system supported by iOS and Android, an 8-inch all-digital driver display unit, and high-quality upholstery.

The Engine

Taigun offers two TSI petrol engine options. The 1.0L engine will pair with a manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission system.

The 1.5L engine will have a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox option.

The Competition

Volkswagen will heat up the competition with the launch of the Taigun as this SUV competes directly with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Hector Plus.

The Volkswagen Promise

Mr. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, certifies the Taigun as a bold and dynamic SUV built with high-quality German engineering. Volkswagen has already started previews for its potential customers at select locations. Mr. Gupta added that these previews offer opportunities to their customers to experience the Taigun with the Volkswagen brand design language and innovative digitalized solutions to enhance the comfort, convenience, and accessibility for the customer.

Volkswagen Taigun aims to secure a space for itself in the heavily populated SUV segment in India.
