PMV Electric has revealed the Eas-E, a flagship microcar from the manufacturer at a starting price of Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom). As a result, the new EV microcar is India's most affordable electric vehicle in the personal mobility vehicle market.
► Eas-E, from PMV Electric is now the world's most affordable EV car.
► The Eas-E EV price in India starts from Rs. 4.79 Lakh (ex-showroom).
► Eas-E EV is now available for pre-order for Rs 2,000.
The Eas-E, the flagship microcar of PMV Electric was unveiled at a starting price of Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom). As a result, the new EV microcar is India's most affordable electric vehicle in the personal mobility vehicle market.
The Eas-E is now available for pre-order for Rs 2,000, and PMV reports that it has already gotten more than 6,000 pre-orders from both Indian and foreign markets. The Eas-E will be produced in the company's Pune facility, and PMV plans to begin deliveries by the middle of 2023. Additionally, a 3-year/50,000-kilometer warranty is included.
The passenger rides behind the driver in what is effectively a two-seat quadricycle. Despite this, there are four doors on the PMV Eas-E, allowing the two occupants to enter from either side.
The Eas-battery E's capacity hasn't been stated by PMV, but the company did note that the microcar sports a cutting-edge 48V lithium-iron-phosphate battery. The onboard charger, according to PMV, can charge the Eas-E using a 15A outlet in less than four hours. The microcar comes with three stated range options: 120, 160, and 200 km. According to PMV, the Eas-E will cost less than 75 pence per kilometre to operate.
The front wheels receive power from the permanent magnet synchronous motor, which has an IP67 rating and can produce 13 hp and 50 Nm of torque. According to reports, the Eas-E can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in less than 5 seconds and can go up to 70 km/h.
The electric microcar has dimensions of 2,915mm in length, 1,157mm in width, and 1,600mm in height. It has a 2,080mm wheelbase and 170mm of ground clearance. Eas-E is among the smallest cars available for purchase in India; the other quadricycle available in this country is the Bajaj Qute, which has dimensions of 2,752mm in length, 1,312mm in width, 1,652mm in height, and 1,925mm in wheelbase. The Tata Nano, another small car available in India, had dimensions of 3,099mm in length, 1,495mm in width, and 1,652mm in height. It also had a 2,230mm wheelbase and a 180mm ground clearance.
The Eas-front E's end has a blanked-off grille design with LED daytime running lights. It features a single windshield wiper and two circular headlights. The microcar looks short and stumpy from the side, and its window line swoops upward at the C-pillar. It also receives two circular auxiliary lamps in the rear bumper in addition to a thin LED lightbar for its taillights. The microcar is offered in both single-tone and two-tone colour schemes.
Due to its small size, the Eas-E features a slim dashboard with the handbrake positioned to the left of the manually adjustable driver's seat and the steering wheel mounted in the centre. The majority of the switchgear on the steering wheel and console appears to have been taken from a Honda parts bin. The Eas-E also features an LCD digital instrument cluster and an infotainment screen with smartphone connectivity and onboard navigation.
Multiple driving modes, hands-free operation, regenerative braking, single-pedal operation, remote parking assistance, cruise control, follow-me-home lights, remote connectivity, and diagnostics are all included. The Eas-E will be offered 4G connectivity and receive over-the-air (OTA) updates, according to PMV.
There are presently no direct competitors for PMV's Eas-E, which it markets as an electric quadricycle. Although it will be far more expensive than the Eas-E, the incoming MG Air EV may be viewed as a distant contender. Even the Tiago EV is a distant competitor, but it is once again more expensive than PMV's microcar.
