Ola has announced the all new S1 e-scooter on August 15 and after the bookings opened within 24 hours the e-scooter got 10,000 bookings.
Ola announced the new S1 e-scooter on August 15, a less expensive and simple version of its massively popular S1 Pro scooter. It has the same engine and nearly all of the functions like its siblings, but it has a smaller battery pack, which allows for significantly lower pricing. Despite this, Ola promises a 141-kilometer (88-mile) range verified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).
This meant that the S1 Pro, which was already highly affordable and appealing, became much more affordable, placing the luxury electric scooter within reach of many more commuters.
With fuel costs continuing to increase and subsidies being handed out to those choosing for EVs, particularly in the Indian market, it's no surprise that the enthusiasm for electric two-wheelers never seems to wane.
Less than a month after Ola Electric introduced the S1 scooter, 10,000 units have already been ordered. This puts it well ahead of competitors like the Ather 450X and TVS iQube in the Indian market's high-speed e-scooter class.
Ola's original pricing of "Rs one lakh minus one rupee," which equates to Rs 99,999, or $1,253 USD, puts an electric scooter with long-distance potential in your garage for less than the price of a high-end mountain bike, is surely boosting sales numbers. Ola has announced that deliveries of the S1 will begin on September 7.
Ola Electric started the "early reservers" purchasing window on September 1, 2022, for anyone interested in having first dibs on the scooter. As it turned out, the scooter's excitement was exactly as expected, with 10,000 orders being placed in just 24 hours. Needless to say, we can anticipate Ola Electric to fill orders for this scooter at a breakneck pace. The business's FutureFactory, which the company claims can create up to 10 million automobiles per year, is also coming along nicely. That being said, for the time being, all we can do is wait and see if the Ola S1 lives up to the anticipation.
