Ola Electric and Ather, in September 2022, saw a significant increase in their electric two-wheeler monthly sales, while Hero Electric saw a decrease in deliveries.
Electric two-wheeler sales and demand in India are rapidly increasing. Electric two-wheeler sales will surpass 50,000 in September 2022. The competition is becoming more intense as new companies enter the market and existing companies launch new products.
Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest two-wheeler company, is also entering the EV two-wheeler market with its sub-brand Vida. On October 7, Vida will unveil the first electric scooter. Vida will quickly gain market share thanks to Hero's extensive dealer network.
In September 2022, 52,957 electric two-wheelers were sold.
Ola Electric maintained its top position in retail sales. The company delivered 9,616 S1 and S1 Pro-e-scooters in September 2022. Ola began delivering the lower variant scooter S1 last month, which increased Ola's deliveries. S1 is the less expensive model. The price ex-showroom is $99,999. Ola is also offering a 10,000 discount on the S1 Pro during the holiday season.
Okinawa and Hero Electric are second and third in sales, with 8,277 and 8,017 deliveries, respectively. This year, these two companies have consistently held the top three positions in the retail sales list. It will be interesting to see if Vida's entry has any effect on their sales.
In September 2022, Ather broke its previous month's sales record and recorded its highest monthly sales figures ever. Ather delivered a total of 7,435 electric scooters.
The newly released Gen 3 450X is in high demand. It has a greater range than the previous 450X and some new features. Ather is also rapidly expanding its dealership network across the country. The company is opening a number of offline stores in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. In addition, Ather is collaborating with Flipkart to sell its electric scooter online. This will also increase the company's sales.
Ampere sold 6,189 e-scooters in September, placing it fifth on the sales list. TVS sales have fallen. The iQube electric scooters were sold in 3,932 units by the company.
In September, Bajaj and Revolt delivered 2,577 and 836 electric two-wheelers, respectively.
Bounce Infinity sold 629 scooters, and Tork Motors, a Pune-based electric bike manufacturer, delivered 48 bikes.
