The all-new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC, priced at ₹1.10 crore, has been launched in India with a more powerful, downsized powertrain.
Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the all-new, high-performance Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC in the country, priced at ₹1.10 crore (ex-showroom). The latest iteration of the AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC arrives in an all-new avatar, following the launch of the new-generation GLC SUV last year. Departing from the previous model’s V6 engine, the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC features a downsized powertrain that promises enhanced power and efficiency.
The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC is based on the previous-generation GLC SUV and inherits its architecture. The overall design is highlighted by AMG-specific elements, such as the Panamericana grille, AMG-spec alloy wheels, and more pronounced bumpers with larger air intakes. In contrast to the standard GLC, the new coupe variant showcases a sloping roofline, giving it a distinctive silhouette.
The 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC features a 2.0-litre inline-four turbocharged petrol engine, which has been hand-built in Affalterbach. This new powertrain utilizes an electric exhaust gas turbocharger, a technology derived from Formula 1 cars, and is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
Despite the downsizing, the engine produces 415 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque, an increase of 33 bhp over the previous model, though with a 20 Nm drop in torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels via a 9-speed AMG Multi-clutch transmission, allowing the coupe SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC is imported to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The new model’s cabin retains the basic design of the standard GLC but includes several AMG-specific enhancements, such as a performance steering wheel, sports seats, and contrast red stitching.
