Since its official launch in October 2024, the new Nissan Magnite has strengthened the automaker’s domestic portfolio and played a crucial role in enhancing Nissan’s global strategy.

Nissan Motor India has reported the highest annual sales figure since FY 2017-18, clocking a combined sales of 99,000 units in FY 2024-25. This staggering sales figure from Nissan India includes over 28,000 units sold in the domestic market and an impressive export of over 71,000 units in global markets. During FY 2024-25, the new Nissan Magnite B-SUV remained a popular offering from this leading automotive brand in India.

Nissan India Clocks Highest Sales in 7 Years

Since its official launch in October 2024, the new Nissan Magnite has strengthened the automaker’s domestic portfolio and played a crucial role in enhancing Nissan’s global strategy. With the Japanese automaker’s flagship initiative, ‘One Car, One World, ’ the new Magnite is exported to over 65 countries, including its left-hand-drive variants sold in Saudi Arabia. The export figures of Nissan India have grown exponentially, highlighting the country’s goal to become a global manufacturing and export hub.

In FY 2020-21, Nissan sold 18,886 units in India, while 38,678, 33,611, and 30,146 units were sold in FY 2021-22, FY 2022-23, and FY2023-24, respectively. On the other hand, Nissan exported 32,389 units in FY 2020-21 while 38,988, 60,608, and 42,978 units were exported in FY 2021-22, FY 2022-23, and FY2023-24, respectively.

Nissan’s FY2025 combined sales have increased by 35% YoY. Despite facing immense competition and a major shift to adopt alternative fuel vehicles, the Nissan Magnite has emerged as a flagship offering from the automaker. The SUV surpassed a cumulative 1.5 lakh units in sales in August 2024, while it got over 10000 units booked within the three months of the launch of the new Magnite.

Nissan has seen impressive export growth, from 42,978 units in FY23 to 71,000 units in FY25, a staggering 65% rise. New Magnite is being exported in both RHD and LHD versions in global markets to cater diverse requirements of global customers.

At the beginning of the new financial year, Nissan also announced a price hike of up to 3% on the new Magnite across all variants, effective April 1, 2025.

Additionally, Renault Group has now acquired complete stakes in Nissan Motor India. Previously, Nissan held 51%, while Renault had a 49% stake in the joint venture. Under 100% ownership, Nissan will continue utilizing manufacturing infrastructure under the current joint venture, Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd.

Nissan’s all current and upcoming models, including Magnite, B- and C-segment SUVs, and affordable EVs, will continue to be manufactured at Renault’s Chennai plant.
