Maruti Suzuki has revealed that close to 2.4 lakh bookings have been recorded for the company's UV line. Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, and Grand Vitara have performed well and Maruti is looking to reclaim its market share.
Maruti Suzuki is becoming more aggressive with its product strategy when it comes to the Indian market these days. This year, the company has already introduced the new Baleno, Brezza, Alto K10, and Celerio in the nation. Additionally, MSIL will recently reveal the new Grand Vitara SUV's pricing. In 2023, a new lineup of SUVs will also be introduced in our market, including a crossover built on the Baleno platform and the 5-door Jimny.
The company wants to reclaim its market share, which has decreased from over 50% to 40%. Buyer reception to the Brezza and Grand Vitara, two of the newest SUV models, has been very positive. The business has unfulfilled orders for these two SUVs that are valued an estimated Rs 25,000 crore.
Buyers have responded well to Maruti Suzuki's 3-row UVs, such as the Ertiga and XL6, in addition to SUVs. For the firm, close to 1 lakh unfilled bookings are accounted for by these two types. However, MSIL has more than 1.4 lakh reservations for the Grand Vitara and the new Brezza. The company's overall order book for utility vehicles is thought to be around Rs 35,000 crore.
About 45,000 Brezza units have already been delivered by Maruti Suzuki, although Grand Vitara deliveries have not yet started. Beginning on September 26, 2022, MSIL will publish the prices and delivery for the new Grand Vitara.
According to reports, the majority of reservations are for higher variations, which results in higher average car prices and profits. The robust demand for the new models, in MSIL's opinion, will more than treble its annual SUV sales, to reach around 3 lakh units.
“The company introduced new SUVs in the market as consumer demand was increasing for such vehicles, and that it would launch more models in the space in the near future", said Shashank Srivastava, Maruti Suzuki’s Senior Executive Director Sales & Marketing.
