In a surprising turn of events, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a reduction in the waiting period for its popular SUV, the Thar, in February 2024. The waiting period, which has been a concern for eager customers, has come down to 52 weeks or approximately 12 months.

Despite being in the market for three years, the Mahindra Thar continues to enjoy strong demand. The lifestyle SUV, available in two variants and a spectrum of colors, offers both petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic transmissions.

Nationwide Waiting Period

This decrease in waiting time applies uniformly across the country, with the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version experiencing the highest demand. Potential buyers can now expect a slightly more reasonable waiting period before getting behind the wheel of their coveted Thar.

Impressive Booking Figures

As of February 2024, Mahindra still grapples with delivering around 2.26 lakh bookings. Approximately 71,000 customers are patiently awaiting the delivery of their Thar. Notably, the model continues to attract fresh bookings at a rate of 7,000 units per month.
