Mahindra unveils three electric SUVs with 200 km/h top speed. Get ready for a thrilling ride!

These New Mahindra Electric Vehicles can go Up to 200km/hr

Mahindra, one of the leading automakers in India, has released a teaser video of its upcoming electric SUVs on its social media platforms. The video shows three prototypes of the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, and BE.05 models undergoing high-speed testing at the company’s proving grounds in Chennai. The video also reveals that the electric SUVs can reach a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) on the oval track.

The XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 are based on the XUV700, Mahindra’s flagship SUV that was launched in August 2023. The XUV.e8 is expected to debut as a pure-electric version of the XUV700 in late 2024, while the XUV.e9 is a coupe version of the same vehicle that will follow in early 2025. The XUV.e9 has a sleeker and more aerodynamic design than the XUV.e8 and is likely to compete with the Tesla Model Y in the global market.

The BE.05 is the first model under Mahindra’s ‘Born Electric’ range, which will feature vehicles built on a dedicated electric platform called INGLO. The BE.05 is a compact SUV that will be launched in late 2025, followed by a larger SUV called BE.07 in mid-2026. The BE.05 will offer two powertrain options: a single-motor configuration with 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, and a dual-motor configuration with 282 bhp and 535 Nm of torque.

All three electric SUVs will use battery cells sourced from BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer. Mahindra has also partnered with Volkswagen to use its electric motors for its next-gen EVs. The front motor will have an output of 107 bhp and 135 Nm of torque, while the rear motor will vary depending on the model and trim level.

Mahindra has not revealed any details about the battery capacity, range, charging time, or pricing of its electric SUVs yet. However, the teaser video suggests that the company is aiming to offer high-performance and premium features to its customers. Mahindra has also announced that it will invest Rs 3,000 crore ($408 million) in its electric vehicle business over the next three years.
