Built on the CMP platform, this new model showcases familiar design elements from its siblings, promising a blend of style and performance with a 1.2L turbo-petrol engine.
Citroen, the French automaker, has been making strides in the Indian market with its lineup of three models - the C3, the pure-electric e-C3, and the C5 Aircross. Now, the company has set its sights on expanding further by introducing a high-riding sedan, the C3X.
Recently, a prototype of the upcoming model was spotted on the streets, providing auto enthusiasts with a sneak peek into what Citroen has in store. The C3X is poised to enter the market as a mid-size sedan, ready to take on competitors like the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, VW Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.
The C3X crossover sedan will be built on Citroen's CMP platform, the same platform that underpins the C3 and C3 Aircross models. The spy images reveal a familiar front facia, featuring low-set headlamps and LED daytime running lights, creating a distinctive visual identity. Additionally, the prototype appears to retain the rather basic flap-type door handles from its sibling models, maintaining Citroen's signature design elements.
While the exterior gave us an idea of the C3X's aesthetics, the spy images also provided glimpses of its interior. From what we can discern, the car's dashboard layout appears to resemble that of the C3 Aircross, hinting at a possible continuation of Citroen's interior design language for this new model.
Under the hood, the C3X is likely to feature the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine found in other Citroen models. This powertrain delivers 108 BHP and 189 Nm of torque, providing ample performance for city drives and highway cruising. Buyers can expect both manual and automatic transmission options to suit their driving preferences.
As Citroen continues its expansion in India, the C3X is anticipated to debut later this year. With its crossover sedan offering, Citroen aims to tap into the growing demand for versatile and stylish vehicles in the mid-size sedan segment.
Auto enthusiasts and potential buyers are eagerly awaiting more details and official announcements from Citroen as the launch date draws near.
