Citroen all set to launch C3 all-electric Hatchback in 2023

French automaker, Citroen is all set to launch the Citroen C3 all-electric Hatchback in 2023. The car will get design cues from the Ami quadricycle and Oli concept car.

Within the next year or two, French carmaker Citron is anticipated to introduce an all-electric version of its C3 hatchback. An electric C3 is currently being developed, according to Citroen branding executive Laurent Barria. According to him, the future C3 would put a lot of attention on "accessible to electric mobility" and use a lot of the eco-friendly materials that were displayed on the Oli concept car. The new C3 will be the first Citroen model to sport the company's new emblem, and it almost certainly will also be offered in mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations.

The electric C3 might have the same CMP architecture as the Opel Corsa-e and Peugeot e-208 given that Citroen is a member of the PSA Group. The Corsa-e and e-208 both feature 50 kWh battery packs and have about 250-mile driving ranges.

The 2020 model year saw a mild redesign for the current-generation C3, which has been on sale since 2016. The C3, a well-liked option in Europe, is reasonably priced and provides a tonne of utility. The next electric model ought to be less expensive than rivals like the Kia Niro EV, although it's unlikely that it will have a starting price of less than €30,000 ($29,410).

The recently unveiled Citroen Oli EV Concept served as inspiration for the C3, as was already mentioned. The Oli has a 40 kWh battery pack, a top speed of 68 mph, and an estimated range of 258 miles on a single charge. The concept car's design elements should be carried over into the C3, despite the fact that it should be considerably more powerful than the Oli and employ a bigger battery pack.
