New Cars to Look Out for This October 2023 in India

October is a festive month in India, and many car buyers are eagerly waiting for the new launches and offers from various automakers. Here are some of the upcoming cars that are expected to hit the market in October 2023.

Tata Punch EV:

Tata Motors is ready to take on the Citroen eC3 with an all-electric version of the Punch. The Punch EV will be positioned between the Tiago EV and the Nexon EV and will use Tata’s Ziptron powertrain. It could get multiple battery options offering a range of around 200-300 km on a single charge.

Harrier & Safari facelifts:

Tata Motors is also planning to launch the facelifted versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs. The production is likely to begin in September 2023, and the price announcements are expected before Diwali. A new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine could join the powertrain line-up.

Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition & AMT variants:

Nissan is the official partner of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, and to celebrate this partnership, it has introduced the Magnite Kuro special edition. The bookings are now open, and the prices will be announced in October. Nissan is also likely to introduce an automated manual transmission (AMT) in the Magnite, which will bridge the gap between the manual and CVT variants.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor:

Toyota has filed a trademark for the ‘Urban Cruiser Taisor’ nametag, which could be used for Toyota’s version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The rebadged version of the Fronx is likely to be launched this festive season, with a few cosmetic changes.

Lexus LM MPV:

Lexus India has started accepting pre-bookings for the LM luxury MPV, which is powered by a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol hybrid engine that puts out 247 BHP and 239 Nm. The carmaker claims to have received over 100 bookings for the LM, which is expected to be priced around Rs 1 crore.

BYD Seal EV:

China-based BYD showcased the Seal electric sedan at this year’s Auto Expo 2023, and confirmed that the EV will be launched in the Indian market by the fourth quarter of this year. The BYD Seal features a futuristic design inspired by the 2021 Ocean X concept and comes with two battery options – a 61.4 kWh unit offering 550 km of range and an 82.5 kWh pack with a claimed range of 700 km.

These are some of the new cars that are set to spice up the Indian auto market in October. If you are looking forward to buying a new car this festive season, waiting for these launches might be worthwhile, as automakers often offer substantial discounts to customers during their launch events.
