Bookings open soon, and deliveries begin in September. It competes against rivals like Kia EV6, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Mercedes-Benz EQB.

Volvo C40 Recharge will launch on September 4th, 2023

Volvo Auto India is gearing up to introduce its latest all-electric offering, the C40 Recharge coupe-SUV, on September 4, 2023. The luxury SUV made its debut in India earlier this year, and the much-anticipated bookings will open online in just a few days. Enthusiasts can expect deliveries to begin right after the launch, promising a seamless experience.

Distinctive Design Sets it Apart

While sharing the platform with its sibling, the XC40 Recharge, the Volvo C40 Recharge differentiates itself with a distinctive coupe roofline, raked windscreen, and revamped LED taillights. The front styling remains similar to the XC40 Recharge, but viewed in profile, the C40 exudes its own identity. It will be the first Volvo offering to boast the new Pixel LED headlights with iconic Thor's Hammer LED DRLs.

Tech-Savvy Interior

Inside, the C40 Recharge mirrors the XC40 Recharge, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, slim vertically-stacked AC vents, and premium leather upholstery. With an Android-based infotainment system, drivers can sign in with their Google ID, granting direct access to Google Maps, Assistant, and PlayStore apps through the car's system. The C40 also comes with sensor-based ADAS tech, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and a host of other advanced features.

Impressive Performance and Range

The Volvo C40 Recharge boasts a dual-motor setup, one on each axle, generating a combined 402 bhp and 660 Nm of torque. This enables a quick 0-100 kmph sprint in just 4.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than its SUV counterpart. Charging the coupe SUV from 0-100% takes a mere 27 minutes with a 150 kW DC fast charger. Powered by a 78 kWh battery pack, it offers an impressive range of 530 km on a single charge, surpassing the XC40 Recharge's 418 km.

Tough Competition Ahead

Upon its arrival, the Volvo C40 Recharge will compete with strong contenders like the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Mercedes-Benz EQB. Priced around ₹ 60 lakh, the C40 Recharge sets itself apart with its unique coupe body style, ensuring it stands out in the ever-growing electric SUV segment.
