Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen and other OEMs are offering huge discounts this festive season. We have created a list which include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate discounts.
Diwali is just round the corner and the Indian automakers and manufacturers are all, but excited. Well, you will be too when you'll get to know about the discounts and offers the carmakers are giving out. This year, several manufacturers published their total discounts and deals throughout their car and SUV lineups ahead of the Diwali celebration. We recently examined a wide range of offers available in cars and SUVs from various automakers. Based on that data, we developed a list of the largest discounts, which include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate discounts.
Are you, my dear readers, ready to know about the discounts? Well, here we go!!
The list begins with the Ciaz, one of the oldest midsize sedans on the market today, which competes with the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus. Maruti Suzuki is providing a total discount of Rs 30,000 on the Ciaz through its Nexa dealership network, which includes an exchange bonus of Rs 25,000 and a corporate discount of Rs 5,000 on both manual and automatic variants. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 105hp and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Because of its large cabin, excellent equipment list, and soft ride quality, the Gen 5 Honda City has always been a popular choice among consumers. Honda India is providing cash discounts of up to Rs 10,000 or free accessories worth Rs 10,900 this month. Customers can also receive a Rs 5,000 loyalty bonus and a Rs 5,000 corporate discount. The brand is also offering a Rs 7,000 exchange incentive, as well as a Rs 10,000 exchange discount. The City Hybrid, on the other hand, does not have any reductions. The midsize sedan recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in India, making it the country's second-longest running nameplate after the Mercedes-Benz E-class.
The WR-V is the Jazz's crossover descendant, with a higher ride height, unique aesthetic elements, a larger cabin, and numerous convenience features. However, as previously stated, it is expected to remain on the market until March 2023. This month, interested clients will get a Rs 10,000 cash discount or complimentary accessories worth Rs 12,300. In addition, Honda is offering a Rs 7,000 exchange incentive as well as a Rs 10,000 exchange discount. Customers will also receive a Rs 5,000 loyalty bonus and a Rs 5,000 corporate discount.
In contrast to the previous month, Tata Motors is now offering a total discount of Rs 40,000 on all Tiago CNG models. These include Rs 25,000 in cash discounts and Rs 15,000 in exchange bonuses. The hatchback is powered by the same engine as its compact sedan sibling, the Tigor CNG, a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 73hp and 95Nm in CNG mode and 86hp and 113Nm in petrol-only mode, and is linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Swift is the next hatchback on the list, with a total discount of Rs 47,000 on its AMT version, including cash discounts of Rs 25,000, corporate discounts of Rs 7,000, and exchange bonuses of Rs 15,000. Meanwhile, its manual variants are discounted by Rs 30,000. The Swift is powered by a 90hp, 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine with 5-speed manual and AMT transmission choices. Maruti Suzuki also released a CNG-powered version of the hatchback in August of this year, although it is not discounted this month.
The Triber is the only sub-4-metre MPV available today that seats seven people. It is powered by a 72hp, 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission. The French company is offering a total discount of Rs 50,000 on the Triber, which comprises Rs 15,000 in cash savings, Rs 25,000 in exchange advantages, and Rs 10,000 in corporate discounts. Customers can also save up to Rs 45,000 on the Triber Limited Edition, which has additional features.
The Dzire, the Swift hatchback's small sedan cousin, receives a total savings of Rs 52,000 on AMT variants. These include Rs 35,000 in cash discounts, Rs 7,000 in corporate discounts, and Rs 10,000 in exchange bonuses. However, its manual variants are only eligible for a Rs 17,000 discount. The Dzire, like the Swift, is powered by a 90hp, 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission.
Among Maruti Suzuki's Arena lineup, the high-riding S Presso hatchback receives the most discount. This amounts to a total savings of Rs 56,000 on its manual variations, including cash discounts of Rs 35,000, corporate discounts of Rs 6,000, and exchange bonuses of Rs 15,000. Meanwhile, the AMT variants of the S Presso receive a total discount of Rs 46,000, which comprises Rs 25,000 in cash discounts, Rs 6,000 in corporate discounts, and Rs 15,000 in exchange bonuses.
Tata Motors' Harrier and Safari vehicles receive the greatest discounts this month. On the Kaziranga Editions of the SUVs, the firm is offering a total discount of Rs 60,000, which comprises cash discounts worth Rs 20,000 and exchange bonuses totaling Rs 40,000. Meanwhile, all other SUV types, excluding the Jet Editions, receive a Rs 40,000 discount. Both SUVs are powered by a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. Tata Motors recently added the XMS and XMAS variants to the Harrier and Safari lineups.
The Taigun is at the top of our list, with the greatest discount of Rs 80,000. Volkswagen's midsize SUV comes with two turbocharged petrol engine options: 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre. This month, the German manufacturer is providing up to Rs 30,000 off the SUV's base 1.0-litre Comfortline variant and up to Rs 55,000 off the remaining 1.0-litre variants. Meanwhile, clients can get the maximum discount of Rs 80,000 on the Taigun 1.5-litre GT manual. The top-of-the-line 1.5-litre GT DSG model, on the other hand, receives a Rs 30,000 discount. The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and the recently debuted Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are among the midsize SUV competitors.
