Honda teased the debut of the new 11th generation Accord with a series of gloomy images and the promise of better hybrid technology today. It further stated that the new vehicle will "restore excitement to the midsize sedan sector."
Honda describes the new sedan as "sporty, modern, clever, and comfortable," and it will feature "sleek styling," which all sounds quite fantastic. It was revealed in a pair of teaser photographs that the automobile, like other modern Hondas, will have simple and beautiful, but also understated appearance.
Honda 11th Gen Accord Exterior & Design
The front of the car will be dominated by a hexagonal grille, while basic, straight DRL lighting characteristics will likely emphasize how low and wide the sedan is. It will not feature the present Accord's nose-topping chrome piece, nor will it have the Civic's folded-over nose, which may be a welcome change for many.
The design will also be streamlined at the back. The new lighting elements go almost from side to side, with only a short gap in the middle for the Honda badge. When compared to the C-shaped lights of the 10th-generation model, this will be a very significant modification.
A patent filing presented to the Brazilian government in July hinted at both revisions. It displayed a black-and-white depiction of the car that indicated the streamlined design at each end and that it will continue in the middle. The new Accord will not be plagued by cluttered style, thanks to its unfussy, arrow-straight design lines and seemingly little bulging in the bodywork.
Honda shares nothing about the engine, but says the 11th-generation Accord will sport a "fun-to-drive" hybrid powertrain. In the near future, the Accord will be joined by a new CR-V and Civic Hybrid, to name a few.

Meanwhile, Honda claims that the Accord will have the largest touchscreen ever. The display will be 12.3 inches large and will sit on top of the dashboard in the same manner as the current model. Unlike the prior model, this teaser shows only one physical nob (presumably a volume nob), as well as a power graph for the hybrid powertrain.
The screen will now be totally controlled by touch, which should be enhanced by the automaker's collaboration with Google. The Accord will be the first Honda to feature built-in Google for "seamless on-the-go connectivity."
A look at the instrument binnacle hints that there will be another screen behind the steering wheel, however Honda has yet to confirm this. We'll have to wait until the automobile is fully shown next month to discover more about that, as well as the car's many other surprises.
