Introduction
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a new adventure bike that is based on the Himalayan but has a more urban and playful character. It is designed to tackle the challenges of city life as well as explore the hidden corners of the urban landscape.
Variant and Color
The Scram 411 has three variants: Graphite Blue - Graphite Red - Graphite Yellow, Blazing Black and Skyline Blue, and White Flame and Silver Spirit.
The first variant has three colour options: Graphite Blue, Graphite Red, and Graphite Yellow.
The second variant has two colour options: Blazing Black and Skyline Blue.
The third variant has two colour options: White Flame and Silver Spirit.
Engine and Power
The Scram 411 uses the same engine as the Himalayan, which is a 411 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with fuel injection and BS6 compliance. The engine produces 24.3 bhp at 6500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4000-4500 rpm.
Fuel Efficiency and Tank Capacity
The Scram 411 has a claimed fuel efficiency of 29.6 kmpl (ARAI) , which is slightly lower than the Himalayan's 30 kmpl (ARAI). However, this may vary depending on the riding conditions and style. The Scram 411 has a fuel tank capacity of 15 litres, which gives it a decent range of around 440 km on a full tank.
Features
The Scram 411 has some features that differentiate it from the Himalayan, such as an offset speedometer with an LCD display that shows speed, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, clock, gear position indicator, service reminder, and battery voltage.
The speedometer also has a tripper navigation system that connects to the Royal Enfield app and Google Maps to provide turn-by-turn navigation on the screen .
The Scram 411 also has a round halogen headlight with a cowl, LED tail light, bulb indicators, dual-channel ABS, front and rear disc brakes, telescopic front forks, monoshock rear suspension, engine guard, skid plate, luggage rack, side stand indicator, hazard light switch, and an urban badge plate.
Wheel Size and Weight
The Scram 411 has spoked wheels with dual-purpose tyres that are suitable for both on-road and off-road riding. The front wheel is 19 inches in diameter and has a tyre size of 90/90-19. The rear wheel is 17 inches in diameter and has a tyre size of 120/90-17.
The wheelbase of the Scram 411 is 1465 mm, which is the same as the Himalayan's. The ground clearance of the Scram 411 is also the same as the Himalayan's at 220 mm .
The Scram 411 weighs 185 kg (kerb), which is slightly lighter than the Himalayan's 199 kg (kerb). The seat height of the Scram 411 is 795 mm, which is lower than the Himalayan's 800 mm.
Rivals
The Scram 411 competes with other adventure bikes in its segment, such as the BMW G310 GS, Hero Xpulse, Benelli TRK502, Kawasaki Versys-X300, and Honda CB500X.
The Scram 411 has an advantage of being more affordable, accessible, and versatile than some of its rivals, but it may lack in terms of power, performance, and features compared to others .
