Yamaha unveils the 2024 TMAX 560 in Japan, showcasing sporty styling and impressive build. With advanced specs and features, an India launch may follow, setting new standards in maxi-scooters.
Key Highlights:
Yamaha has recently lifted the veil off its latest creation, the 2024 TMAX 560, targeting the Japanese market. Boasting a blend of power, style, and advanced features, this sport maxi-scooter is set to challenge motorcycles of similar capacity. Let's delve into the notable aspects of this exciting release.
Sporty Styling: The TMAX 560 showcases a striking design with a large front apron featuring sharp lines and integrated projector headlights. A tall, electrically adjustable windscreen enhances its visual appeal, exuding a sporty demeanor that sets it apart from its peers.
Impressive Build: Dominating the side profile is its substantial proportions, accentuated by a seamless merger of the massive central tunnel with the tail-section. The placement of the tail light and indicators contributes to its sleek, supersport-inspired aesthetic, reflecting Yamaha's attention to detail.
Performance: Beneath its expansive bodywork lies a twin-spar, diecast aluminum frame, complemented by a USD fork at the front and an adjustable rear suspension. Riding on 15-inch alloy wheels, equipped with 120-section front and 160-section rear tires, the TMAX 560 ensures stability and agility on the road. Its braking system comprises 267mm twin discs at the front and a 282mm disc at the rear, offering reliable stopping power.
Powertrain: The heart of the TMAX 560 is a potent 562cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve, parallel-twin engine, delivering 47bhp at 7,500rpm and 55.7Nm of torque at 5250rpm. Mated to a V-belt automatic transmission, it promises exhilarating performance while maintaining efficiency.
Yamaha has left no stone unturned in equipping the TMAX 560 with a plethora of features. From traction control to a color TFT display with Garmin navigation, cruise control, keyless ignition, keyless seat unlock, and heated seats and grips, this maxi-scooter offers a comprehensive package tailored for the modern rider.

While speculation arose regarding its potential launch in India following sightings of a test mule, the prospects remain uncertain. Despite the success of big maxi-scooters like the BMW C400GT, which commands a hefty price tag of Rs 11.25 Lakhs (ex-showroom) , the TMAX 560 is expected to surpass it in cost to almost Rs 13 lakhs to 14 Lakhs. Nevertheless, with the growing demand for premium scooters in the Indian market, Yamaha may find a niche for its latest offering.
The unveiling of the 2024 Yamaha TMAX 560 marks a significant milestone in the realm of sport maxi-scooters, combining performance, style, and technology in a compelling package. As enthusiasts await its global rollout, the TMAX 560 sets a new benchmark for the segment, promising an exhilarating riding experience like never before.
