In June 2023, the Volvo EX30 is expected to make its premiere and go on sale soon. China will be the location of production.

New information on Volvo's future EX30 SUV was disclosed. Volvo's CEO Jim Rowan revealed the EX30 will become official on June 15 in an interview with the Australian journal Wheels.

Volvo is now set to unveil the new affordable model EX30 on June 15

The EX30, he continued, is a more youthful audience than the typical Volvo fan and is a smaller SUV. The Volvo XC40 is the company's smallest electric SUV at the moment; Rowan described the Volvo EX40 as "extremely safe," having a "fair range," being of "excellent size," but being "smaller than a 40."

According to reports, Volvo will introduce the EX30 for Europe and Australia in the middle of June. Production is expected to begin later this year, with the first deliveries in Europe scheduled for the end of 2023.

The Zeekr 001 and the EX30 are both believed to be built on Geely's SEA design, which is also the basis for the Polestar 4. It enables over-the-air upgrades and a range of different battery sizes.

The XC40 Recharge, which recently received a rear-wheel-drive variant as the first Volvo with RWD in the last 25 years, will be placed above the EX30.

It will be fascinating to compare the EX30's range to that of the XC40 Recharge's base model. Recall that the latter, thanks to a 69-kWh battery pack, has a range of 460 kilometres in the WLTP cycle and 240 miles in the EPA.

The latest addition to Volvo's expanding portfolio is anticipated to ride on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) developed by parent firm Geely and share mechanical components with the tiny crossover Polestar 4 with a coupe-like design.

According to projections, the EX30 will be crucial to the automaker's plans to sell 1.2 million vehicles annually by 2025.

According to Rowan, Volvo might offer the EX30 throughout Europe via subscription. The business is betting that a subscription model with a low monthly cost will attract young people who conduct internet shopping.

Rivals of Volvo Ex30

In the company's expanding lineup of electric SUVs, the EX30 will likely compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQA and be placed below the Volvo XC40 Recharge and Volvo C40 models.
