VLF Tennis Electric Scooter Launched in India: Price, Features, Range & Specs

With an ex-showroom price of ₹1.29 lakh, the VLF Tennis 1500W electric scooter has made its debut in India. This Italian-designed electric two-wheeler, which is locally produced in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, is a major turning point in the Indian EV market. KAW Veloce Motors Pvt. Ltd. and Velocifero (VLF) have joined to manage manufacturing and distribution throughout the nation.

VLF Tennis 1500W Electric Scooter: Price and Performance

The Indian market will get the 1500W variant of the VLF Tennis, featuring:

  • A 2.5 kWh battery providing a 130 km range on a single charge.
  • Delivers a maximum torque of 157 Nm with a top speed of 65 kmph.
  • Full charge from 0 to 80% in just three hours.

Globally, the model is available in two variants, but only the 1500W version is being launched in India.

Key Features of VLF Tennis 1500W

Design and Build

High-tensile steel frame for durability.
Lightweight at 88 kg (including the battery).
Available in three vibrant colours: Snowflake White, Fire Fury Dark Red, and Slate Gray.

Hardware

Telescopic hydraulic forks in the front and a hydraulic mono-shock at the rear for a smoother ride.
Disc brakes on both ends ensure optimal stopping power.

Technology

A five-inch digital TFT display serves as the speedometer.
Offers three riding modes: Eco, Comfort, and Sport.

Wheels and Lighting

Rides on 12-inch wheels for stability.
Equipped with LED headlights and tail lamps for enhanced visibility.

International Variants: A Comparison

In global markets, the VLF Tennis is also available in a 4000W variant:

  • Performance: Generates 232 Nm of torque and reaches a top speed of 100 kmph.
  • Battery and Range: A 2.8 kWh battery offers a range of 100 km at 40 kmph.
  • Charging Time: Requires five to six hours for a full charge.

VLF's Expansion Plans in India

By the conclusion of the fiscal year, there will be 50 dealerships in tier I and tier II cities, up from the original arrangement of 15. VLF is the second Italian brand to produce in India, after Aprilia. This aligns with the company's goal of offering Indian customers affordable, customised electric scooters.
