Upcoming Bikes Under 1 Lakh in India

Six motorcycles are anticipated to be released, including the TVS Fiero 125, the Hero Electric AE-75, and the Honda Activa 7G.

Hero Electric AE-75

An electric two-wheeler with a price tag of about Rs. 80,000 is called the Hero Electric AE-75.

By March 2023, the debut is anticipated. The AE-75 has an 80km/charge range and a top speed of 55kmph. The scooter's precise specifications haven't been made public yet. The AE-75 was unveiled by Hero Electric at the 2020 Auto Expo. It was created to meet the needs of India's high-speed scooter market.

In the calendar year 2022, Hero Electric, the oldest and largest producer of electric two-wheelers in India, announced its highest-ever yearly sales of over 1 lakh units (1,00,123).

The company is gaining from increasing demand for electric two-wheelers in the high-speed category as well as from the last-mile delivery segment's quick electrification.

Seven electric scooters are available from Hero Electric: the low-speed NYX E5, the Optima CX (with single and twin batteries), the NYX HS500ER, and the high-speed Photon LP.

According to the business, it currently has over 6,00,000 customers using its open-access charging and swapping network.

Honda Activa 7G

The Honda Activa 7G scooter is anticipated to be on sale in India in May 2023 for between Rs. 80,000 and Rs. 90,000. The Activa 6G 110cc scooter from the firm will be replaced by the Activa 7G. There will likely be a number of improvements made to this scooter over the current model.

The following-generation model will come in a variety of configurations and colour choices, just like the Activa 6G. Honda currently sells the Activa 7G, Activa 6G, Activa 125, and Hero Xoom, which are bikes that are comparable.

Ampere Zeal EX, which will debut in India in February 2023, is another motorcycle that is comparable to the Activa 7G.

Although there are few specifics about the Activa 7G, we anticipate the future scooter will include a semi-digital instrument console, if not a fully digital one, at least with rudimentary Bluetooth connectivity. Also, we would like the scooter to come standard with an LED headlight and a disc brake up front.

The next Honda Activa's top speed in electric-only mode is anticipated to reach 40 kph. Honda might potentially reveal a powerful, high-voltage hybrid design.

The hybrid version of the Activa is anticipated to be released for the Indian market by Honda Motorbike & Scooter India (HMSI). In December 2022, it applied for a new H-Smart trademark. But, the company hasn't yet made any information regarding the technology public.

TVS Fiero 125

A new motorcycle called the TVS Fiero 125 is anticipated to be on sale in June 2023 for an estimated starting price of Rs. 80,000. A 124.8cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected, three-valve engine is anticipated to power it, delivering 11.2Nm at 6000 rpm and 11.38PS at 7500 rpm.

The 125cc motorbike, which will be based on the TVS Raider, will compete with models like the Honda Shine, Hero Glamour 125, and Bajaj Pulsar 125.

The Fiero 125's trademark application was submitted in November 2020 and has since been approved. It is advised to hold off on disclosing further information about the bike until TVS makes an official announcement.

Everve EF1

At the 2020 Auto Expo, the Everve EF1 electric scooter prototype was unveiled. By the end of 2020, the Everve EF1 will be available for purchase and will compete with other high-end scooters like the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, and TVS iQube.

The Everve EF1 claims to go 100 kilometres on a single charge and reach high speeds of 110 kilometres per hour (restricted to 90 kilometres per hour).

With a standard 5A outlet, it can charge its two lithium-ion batteries to 100% in 5 hours, or 50% in 1.5 hours with a quick charger.

It will be offered with a 3kW and a 5kW motor, the latter of which is more potent. Everve claims that the EF1 accelerates from 0 to 60 kilometres per hour in 8.53 seconds and tops out at 100 kilometres per hour.

The Everve EF1 Electric Scooter is now only available in prototype form, but production is expected to start by the end of 2020. It costs Rs. 90,000 in India.

Liger X

The electric scooter known as the Liger X has a top speed of 65 kmph and can support two riders weighing up to 150 kg. It includes replaceable batteries and a RealLifeCityRange of 60 kilometres. The Liger X features a neo-retro appearance with an LED headlight positioned on the apron that is similar to Iron Man's Arc Reactor.

Range claims for the Liger X and Liger X Plus are 100 km and 60 km, respectively. Both models have smartphone communication with 4G and GPS, live position, trip history, battery pack SOC (State Of Charge), and temperature information.

The Liger X+ has a TFT display with turn-by-turn directions, call and message notifications, and other features. Anticipate the Liger X and X Plus to have ex-showroom sticker prices of roughly Rs 1.7 lakh and Rs 1.9 lakh, respectively.
