TVS Racing has announced a 16-rider squad for TVS Asia One Make Championship. the championship will be held in Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines.TVS Motor Company’s factory racing team, TVS Racing, has announced recently, their 16 rider squad for TVS Asia One Make Championship. This comes out as the first-ever road-racing championship by an Indian manufacturer.
The TVS Asia OMC is going to be held in Malaysia this year, along with the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC).
The company, in a recent announcement, said that the selection process was based on rider skill, their latest best achievements, and their lap timings, making sure that only the best talent got selected for the debut championship. Other key parameters according to the company were, the consistency and adaptability of riders as these factors were also taken into consideration.
From the Indian mainland, three riders have been selected- Jagan Kumar, KY Ahmed, and Deepak. Starting from May 27, these riders will go on and participate in 4 rounds of TVS Asia OMC at the iconic Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and culminate at Thailand’s Chang International Circuit on November 20. The championship will also be held at Mandalika International Circuit, Indonesia, and Sugo International Circuit, Japan.
According to the company, this platform will help discover new talents as well as help showcase the qualities and capabilities of the company’s finest racing bikes- Apache RR 310. The bike was launched in the Philippines last year. TVS Apache RR 310 comes up with 312cc SI, four-stroke, four-valve, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and will be able to develop 34 bhp of maximum power and 27 Nm of peak torque and comes mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
