The 2021 Third-Generation Nissan Qashqai Unveiled Globally

On Friday, Nissan revealed the summer 2021 Qashqai compact SUV, which in the European market is to go on sale. The 3rd generation of this SUV is maintaining its character as before with additional effective design enablement such as more toned features, more sharpness and a modern style. The design showcases Nissan’s global design language with a floating roof, V-motion grille and a muscular outlook. Qashqai also comes with a more muscular stance with an effective showcase on shoulder lines, 20-inch alloy wheels and an extended wheelbase. The more astonishing characteristics like LED headlights with lean and sharper look has been designed to beam adjustment according to the road condition to comfort the road user.

The side look of the Qashqai is more prominent with an athletic and dynamic body showcasing a unique character line running through the front till back embracing 3D tail lights when lit up for a unique road-going signature. There will be 11 colour availability, along with five two-tone combinations. This gives the customer a wide range of choice of 16 colour variants. Qashqai comprising a 12-volt mild-hybrid system with a 1.3-litre turbo engine and a lithium-ion battery. There is the enablement of energy generation during deceleration action while driving, which contributes to efficiency, as well as, reduction in carbon dioxide emission.

The SUV is also the first deployment of an innovative e-POWER driving system in European roads, whose sails are planned to start following the mild-hybrid versions. Qashqai has NISSAN’s first variable compression fuel engine in the form of a dedicated electricity generation unit for the purpose of e-Power emission. The outcome is a highly efficient, more powered and compact electrified system that thus delivers more efficiency. Sales will kick off with the mild-hybrid version, while the e-Power version will follow later. Qashqai is the all-new model and also the first one to operate on the Alliance CMF-C platform in Europe, which showcases the state of art automotive structure and technology. Considering the all-while construction makes the material light-weighted with high performance and composition of strength using the best way welding techniques. For the first time, the rear hatch door is of composite material, which reduces the weight by 2.6kg as compared to the prior models.

This advanced manufacturing technique cuts the resulted weight by 60kg and adds a 41 per cent increment of structural rigidity as compared to selling models. The Qashqai now offers a Macpherson setup at front and rear using the CMF-c platform. A torsion beam has been equipped for two-wheel-drive models with a multi-link setup for all-wheel drive advancing to 20-inch wheels is offered for rear suspension add-ons. Qashqai also proposing a modern infotainment system with a much impressive feature display with inter embedded services including effortless integration of smartphones, in-car Wi-Fi with a limit offering seven devices and Nissan Connect Services, a dedicated app deployed to maintain and monitor the vehicle. A completely electronic 12.3-inch TFT multi-information screen offers a choice of configurable layouts to display navigation, entertainment, traffic or vehicle information, controlled from a new tactile dial switch on the steering wheel. Also, the TFT’s digital background has a Japanese Kiriko cut glass motif – a nod to Nissan’s Japanese DNA.

A 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) projects navigation, enhanced driving assistance and road information onto the windscreen within the driver’s vision line. This lets the driver maintain their direct focus on track with more comfort and control of the wheel. A high-resolution 9-inch Nissan Connect display screen deploying navigation, entertainment and vehicle settings, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa home-to-car skills are also supported and is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Qashqai also offers ProPILOT with Navi-link, which helps to reduce discomfort and stress while driving by assisting with acceleration and braking in a unidirectional line on a highway. The system features similar intuitive controls as ProPILOT and deploys navigating data for smooth assistance with driving, especially with steep cornering and off-ramp exiting.
