With a revamped design, distinct variants, and enhanced features, the facelifted Nexon promises to impress.
Tata Motors is leaving no stone unturned in testing the highly anticipated facelifted version of the Nexon, the sub-compact SUV, which is set to hit the Indian market in the near future. Recent sightings of a pair of test mules at Tamhini Ghat have revealed interesting details about different variants being tested. The upcoming 2023 Tata Nexon boasts a heavily redesigned exterior, consistent with Tata's new design language seen across their SUV lineup.
From the spy shots, it is evident that Tata is testing different variants of the Nexon. One of the test mules featured steel rims with wheel covers, while the other showcased star-shaped alloy wheels. Furthermore, the higher variant displayed the inclusion of an electric sunroof, which was missing in the lower variant. These variant-specific differences indicate that Tata will offer customers a range of options to suit their preferences.
The 2023 Nexon exhibits a significant redesign, particularly in its front fascia. It now boasts a split headlamp setup, with LED Daytime Running Lamps positioned above and the main headlamp cluster situated below. This design element aligns with Tata's efforts to establish a consistent and cohesive design language across its SUV lineup.
Similar design revisions are expected to be seen in the upcoming facelifts of the Harrier and Safari models. Overall, the new Nexon exudes a more aggressive and contemporary aesthetic compared to its predecessor.
The facelifted Nexon will retain the same powertrain options as the current model. Customers can expect a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, along with a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Both engines will be available with a choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed AMT.
However, rumours suggest that Tata may introduce a dual-clutch automatic transmission for the turbo-petrol variant, offering a smoother and more refined driving experience compared to the existing AMT.
Inside the cabin, the facelifted Nexon will showcase various upgrades. These include new upholstery, a redesigned dashboard, and a refreshed central console. Additionally, Tata will introduce a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, providing a more modern and immersive driving experience for occupants.
The upcoming 2023 Tata Nexon facelift has generated excitement as test mules continue to be spotted during vigorous testing. With its revamped exterior design, distinct variant offerings, unchanged yet capable powertrain options, and enhanced interior features, the facelifted Nexon aims to captivate customers in the highly competitive sub-compact SUV segment.
Tata Motors' commitment to continuous improvement and attention to detail promises an exciting and rejuvenated driving experience for Nexon enthusiasts.
