Tata Altroz Dark Edition has gone all black to give its exteriors and interiors a novel finish. Here is an inside-out review of the Tata Altroz Dark Edition.

Tata Altroz Dark Edition prices start from Rs 8.71 lakhs

● The Tata Altroz Dark Edition is available in the top-spec XZ+ trim.● While costing Rs 30K more than the standard XZ+ version, Tata Motors has announced the Dark Edition prices to start at Rs 8.71 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).● Tata Altroz Dark Edition does not offer a diesel engine option.

Tata Motors launches the Dark edition of Tata Altroz

As Tata Motors launches the Dark Editions of many of its models, the Tata Altroz stands out for its sheer magnificence. The vehicle is available only in the top-end XZ+ variant, with prices starting at Rs 8.71 lakhs, Rs 30,000 more than the standard petrol Tata Altroz XZ+.

The Exteriors – Black is beautiful

Black is always an eye-catching colour, and more so when it adorns the Tata Altroz Dark Edition. Tata Motors calls it the Cosmo Dark Paint finish. Everything about the vehicle, including the 16-inches alloy wheels and the tailgate Altroz lettering, are black. As a result, the Tata Altroz loses the contrasting effect of the black trim beneath the window line.

However, the much-needed contrast comes from the chrome garnishes Tata Motors has retained from the standard version in the Dark Edition model. In addition, the chrome trim surrounding the grille and the headlamps and other chrome embellishments like the '#Dark' badge in the front fenders add to the contrasting effects.

The Interiors – An Inviting Black

The all-black interiors give an inviting look with the words 'Dark' inscribed on the headrests. The standard Altroz version interiors are full of colours, whereas the Dark Edition simplifies everything with its black overtones. The lower portion of the cabin gets a change from grey to black, and so does the trim on the dashboard. Tata Motors has not even left out the trims on the steering wheel and other places around the centre console, as everything inside the Tata Altroz Dark Edition gets a black makeover.

Ambient lighting livens up the interiors

While the vehicle does look inviting with its black finishes, the ambient blue lighting looks prominently attractive as it exudes a floating effect over the all-black dashboard panel. In addition, the blue colour renders a premium look to the interiors, similar to what the chrome garnishes did for the exteriors.

Engine and Pricing Options

Tata Altroz Dark Edition does not come with a diesel option. Instead, the vehicle runs on a 1.2L naturally aspirated 86hp petrol engine or a more potent 1.2L 110hp turbo petrol motor. These petrol engines pair with a 5-speed manual transmission system.

Pricing-wise, the Tata Altroz Dark Edition costs Rs 30,000 more than the standard top-end XZ+ version and is available at a starting price of Rs 8.71 lakhs. On the other hand, the XZ+ iTurbo variant prices start from Rs 9.36 lakhs. All prices are Delhi, ex-showroom.
