Key Highlights:

  • RE is planning to introduce a 450cc roadster model
  • The new motorcycle is expected to launch by the end of 2024
  • Expected price of new motorcycle will range between Rs 2.3 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh

Royal Enfield, renowned for its iconic motorcycles, is poised to shake up the roadster segment with its upcoming 450cc roadster model. Spotted undergoing rigorous testing, this new addition to Royal Enfield's lineup promises a blend of performance, style, and versatility. Here's a closer look at what enthusiasts can expect from the highly anticipated roadster.

Design

Embracing minimalist design elements, the roadster has a distinctive charm, characterised by a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round headlight reminiscent of the Super Meteor 650, and a compact rear end with integrated blinkers. Drawing inspiration from the Himalayan's platform, the roadster is anticipated to offer a relaxed, upright riding posture, ensuring comfort on extended journeys.

Engine Specifications

Powering the roadster is Royal Enfield's Shrpa 450 engine, renowned for its robust performance. Initially introduced in the new Himalayan 450, this liquid-cooled 450cc engine outputs 40bhp and 40 Nm of torque, coupled with a seamless 6-speed gearbox. While minor tweaks may enhance its road-centric performance, enthusiasts can anticipate a thrilling ride, smooth power delivery and responsive handling.

Features

Distinguishing itself from its adventure-oriented counterpart, the roadster boasts a refined set of features tailored for urban exploration. The roadster is likely to sport telescopic forks and alloy wheels, possibly in 17-inch or 18-inch front and 17-inch rear configurations. A round instrument cluster, reminiscent of the semi-digital unit from Shotgun's design, provides essential ride information at a glance.

Technology

Equipped with disc brakes at both ends, complemented by dual-channel ABS, the roadster prioritises rider safety and control. While specific details regarding ride modes remain undisclosed, the inclusion of advanced lighting systems, potentially full LED, ensures enhanced visibility in all conditions. Enthusiasts can also expect a diverse range of accessories, enabling customization to suit individual preferences and riding styles.

Expected Launch Date and Price

This new Royal Enfield 450cc roadster is expected to hit the markets by the end of December 2024. Talking about the pricing of this upcoming bike, this new RE is expected to be priced below Himalayan 450, somewhere between Rs 2.3 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh.

Verdict

As anticipation mounts for its official debut, Royal Enfield's 450cc roadster stands poised to redefine the urban riding experience, marrying timeless design with modern performance and technology. Stay tuned for further updates as Royal Enfield paves the way for an all new roadster 450cc engine motorcycle.
