Nissan Motor India has announced a significant milestone for the Nissan Magnite, which has crossed 1.5 lakh cumulative sales as of August 2024. This achievement comes less than four years after the SUV’s launch in December 2020, reflecting its strong market performance both domestically and internationally.
In August 2024, Nissan Magnite registered its highest monthly wholesale figures for the fiscal year FY24, with 10,624 units dispatched. This impressive performance underscores the vehicle's popularity and the company's ability to navigate industry challenges effectively.
Nissan Motor India also recorded its highest monthly export volume in five years, with 8,361 units shipped in August 2024. This marks a significant achievement for the company, aligning with Nissan’s ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ philosophy.
Export Business Growth
The export segment of Nissan's business witnessed substantial growth in August 2024:
These figures highlight the strong demand for the Nissan Magnite in international markets.
In the domestic market, Nissan Magnite also showed positive growth:
The domestic wholesale accounted for 2,263 units in August 2024, reflecting steady demand in the Indian market.
Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, commented on the milestone:
“The month of August has been remarkable despite the decline in overall Total Industry Volume (TIV). However, the combined efforts of the Nissan Motor India team along with our dealer partners have delivered great results for the company and customers. The renewed strategy of Nissan’s focus on domestic and exports business is delivering great results for India. The Nissan Magnite is proof that a robust platform, timeless product, and enhanced customer centricity can continue to deliver consistent outcomes, which is evident in the 1.5 lakh milestone that Nissan has crossed this month.”
Nissan Motor India has been on an upward trajectory, driven by the success of the Nissan Magnite. The SUV, which blends Japanese design excellence with efficient Indian production, continues to captivate consumers both in India and abroad.
As part of its growth strategy, Nissan Motor India is expanding its network footprint across the country. Recent additions in Bengaluru, Srinagar, Salem, Delhi, and Durgapur have increased the company's network to 273 touchpoints. Nissan plans to continue this expansion, aiming to surpass 300 touchpoints by the end of the fiscal year.
The Nissan Magnite is currently exported to over 17 global markets. Recent launches in Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Brunei have further expanded its international presence. In recent years, Nissan Motor India has focused on exporting to Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, reinforcing the global appeal of the Magnite.
This combination of strong domestic sales, impressive export growth, and strategic network expansion positions Nissan Motor India for continued success in the coming years.
