Hyundai Motor India has opened bookings of its upcoming All-New Hyundai VERNA.
Upcoming All New Hyundai VERNA Can Be Pre-booked in India for Rs. 25000.
Hyundai has officially opened Pre-Bookings for the Next-Gen Hyundai VERNA in India ahead of the launch. Prospective buyers can also book the all-new Hyundai VERNA on the carmaker’s website and also at Hyundai Dealerships across India by paying INR 25000.
Teasers have been released by Hyundai for its upcoming Next-Gen VERNA . Codenamed BN7i, the all new VERNA will go on sale by May 2023.
The new Verna will cost more than the outgoing model, as the All-New VERNA has the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. With bookings currently open, we expect Hyundai to reveal more details on the new VERNA in the coming days. The price announcement should take place place before May this year.
Hyundai India has announced the powertrain details for the new sedan.
The new Hyundai VERNA is equipped with a new, sporty and 1.5 Turbo GDi Petrol engine that comes with 6-speed Manual Transmission (6MT) and 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (7DCT).
It will get two 1.5-litre engine options, a new TGDi turbo-petrol unit and also the existing naturally aspirated MPi unit.
These powertrains are geared to churn out maximum power and torque performance that will be a new benchmark for this segment. This engine is expected to be the same powerplant that will eventually see duty on the most of the Hyundai Kia models in India- Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Kia Carens currently.
Hyundai will not offer any diesel engine option on the next-gen Hyundai VERNA. So, the mid-size sedan segment will now be petrol-only as no other rival is offering a diesel engine.
Hyundai has also confirmed that the new Verna’s engines will be RDE-compliant, eco-friendly engines that are also E20 fuel ready.
As far as variants are concerned, the new VERNA will be offered in four trim levels: EX, S, SX, and SX (O). It is expected that the 1.5-litre TGDI engine will be available on the higher trims, while entry level trims will have the 1.5-litre NA unit.
The All- New Verna will be available in 7 Monotone and 2 Dual tone exterior colour options that will also include the 3 new monotone colours – Abyss Black (New), Atlas White, and Tellurian Brown.
The three teaser images that Hyundai India has released on its website show a thorough redesign over the current-gen VERNA.
When we check the profile, the new Verna sports a much more angular design, with a strong shoulder line accompanied by sharp character lines on the rear fender and C-pillar.
On the sides, the new Verna gets more cuts and creases than the current-gen VERNA and has a sportier look than a conventional sedan. The doors and fenders will have more creases, very similar to other Hyundai sedans that are sold overseas.
The tail-lamps protruding outwards give a unique look to the new VERNA. The tail-lamps are connected with an LED light bar and have crystal-like insert, giving the car a unique look. Although Hyundai hasn't confirmed it, Verna’s front design could have the same set-up.
The front of the new Verna comes with a full-width LED light-bar that connects to the headlights. The grille looks sporty and extends to merge with the headlights.
The new Verna is also going to be larger than the outgoing model, an area that needed some improvement when compared to the rest of the mid-size sedan segment.
The production of the All-New VERNA will start in the coming months it is expected to be a much stronger rival to the VW Virtus, the Skoda Slavia, the upcoming facelifted Honda City sedan and the ageing Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. than the current-gen VERNA.
Talking about about the pre-bookings for the all-new Hyundai VERNA, Mr. Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “Today, we are glad to announce the commencement of bookings for the next generation of our iconic sedan – the all-new Hyundai VERNA. With a strong cult following across diverse geographies of India, VERNA has a resilient legacy of 16 years, garnering over 4.6 lakh happy customers. The all-new Hyundai VERNA will have superior performance and will deliver a thrilling driving experience like never before. We are certain this benchmark sedan from Hyundai will elevate our customer aspirations and drive a strong resurgence in this segment.”
