Key Highlights from the NEWS
KTM has revealed the 2025 390 Adventure S and the 390 Enduro R at the 2024 India Bike Week(IBW), held in Vagator, Goa. These bikes were first showcased at EICMA 2024, and the India-specific models were put on display at the event. These models are expected to be launched in January 2025. Now, let's have a quick overview of both motorcycles.
The KTM 390 Adventure S has a bold and eye-catching design that is similar to its elder 1390 Adventure model. It features a rally-style look with two stacked LED headlights and bodywork inspired by Dakar racing. This new model has many design improvements compared to the older version, which makes it a go-to choice for long trips and off-roading.
Adventure S 390 is powered by a new 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine sourced from the latest Duke 390. This engine generates approximately 46 PS at 8,500 rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm along with a six-speed transmission, an absolute blast on the highways. In addition to the engine, it is expected that this motorcycle will have a larger rear sprocket to improve low-end torque.
The 390 Adventure S comes with advanced features such as a TFT display for speedometer, odometer, and other vehicle information, switchable traction control, cornering ABS, and cruise control.
This motorcycle features a new chassis setup with fully adjustable suspension components such as a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear along with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels fitted with knobby tires for enhanced off-road traction.
The KTM 390 Enduro R is a dirt bike designed specifically for off-roading. This bike has a compact build with a beak-like fender and minimalistic headlight design. The sole objective behind the engineering of this bike is to provide agility and control while performing on challenging terrains.
Similar to the 390 Adventure S, the engine of this bike is also sourced from the latest Duke 390. However, the engine is slightly configured for off-roading and rugged terrains which produces approximately 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm of torque.
The bike features three rider modes: Rain, Street, and Rally. With the rally mode, the rider can disable rear wheel ABS for better control over the vehicle during off-road conditions. Moreover, there is also a dedicated button to turn off ABS on the fly. Talking about the instrument cluster, it comes with a slim LCD screen that is controlled via a joystick.
Enduro 390 R comes with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, which are ideal for off-road riding. The suspension system includes WP Apex suspension with 230 mm travel which provides excellent bump absorption and stability on rough and lumpy terrains.
The expected pricing for the KTM 390 Adventure S is around ₹3.8 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, Enduro 390 R is expected to be priced at ₹3.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon their release, these bikes will compete against notable rivals such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the Hero Xpulse 400.
