The 4th Gen Swift was first showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. After that, the hatchback made its debut in international markets like Japan, Europe and others. Now, the hatchback is all set to make its India debut. There will be no change in India specs and it will get the same design and features as the global variant. Despite coming with an all-new design, the Swift hatchback still comes based on the same HEARTECT platform.
As mentioned above, the upcoming hatchback will get an all-new design or visual appeal which is expected to boost the sales of the popular hatchback. Talking about the new design elements the new Swift will come with a new grille and LED projector headlamps with LED Daytime running lights, a new bumper and there’s also an LED foglamps option in the top variant now.
The side profile of the hatchback looks more attractive now. It comes with a new set of alloy wheels. On the rear side, the hatchback gets new LED taillights and an upgraded bumper. Apart from this, we are also expecting a new colour option for the new-gen Swift.
As far as the cabin updates are concerned, the new Swift gets a highly upgraded dashboard with a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. The hatchback will also come with a new upholstery for the seats.
You don’t need to worry about safety, the new Swift will come with features like Six airbags, ESP as standard, ABS with EBD, a three-point seatbelt for the second-row centre passenger and a reverse parking camera. There’s a possibility that India spec Swift can lack some safety features such as a 360-degree camera and ADAS tech which are present in the global model of the hatchback.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to come equipped with a new Z-Series 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine which is an update over the previous K12 4-cylinder petrol unit. Despite getting an update on the mechanical front, the power figure will be similar to the previous engine. The previous engine used to produce the maximum power of 89 bhp and a peak torque of 113 Nm. This powerhouse comes mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. The major highlight for the upcoming hatchback will be a mild hybrid technology which will be available for all the variants.
The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is set to debut in India with significant updates including a complete design overhaul and new features. Equipped with a Z-Series 3-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology, this iteration promises enhanced performance. Safety features include six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, and a reverse parking camera. While lacking some global safety features, it retains its appeal with refreshed exterior and interior elements, ensuring a promising launch in the Indian market.
