In the world of SUVs, Mahindra has been a prominent player, with models like the XUV700, Scorpio, and Thar. However, the XUV300, though consistently maintaining decent sales figures, hasn't quite reached the same level of popularity. Mahindra aims to change that narrative with the upcoming facelift of the XUV300 that's scheduled for launch in the first half of 2024.
Recent spy shots near Mahindra's Nashik plant, shared by automotive enthusiast Ganesh Pagar, reveal exciting updates of the XUV300 facelift. The exterior boasts of a refreshed front fascia and rear section, aligning with the design language of Mahindra's upcoming BE range of electric SUVs.

Notable features include the distinctive C-shaped LED DRLs, revamped headlamps, and a refreshed front grille and bumper. The rear also showcases C-shaped lighting elements, a redesigned boot lid, and bumper. While the side profile remains largely unchanged, there's a possibility of new alloy wheels and additional color options for the facelifted model.
Moving to the interiors, the XUV300 facelift promises a more modern and user-friendly experience. Spy shots reveal a larger touchscreen infotainment system, likely a 10.25-inch unit, a significant upgrade from the current 7-inch setup.
The digital instrument screen has also been revamped, and the central console that now focuses on practicality. The test mule features beige upholstery, and although the steering wheel seems familiar, changes may occur in the top-spec variants.

Anticipated updates also include advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, and a 360° surround view camera. Moreover, one can clearly see the rare AC vents, a feature missing in the ongoing XUV300 model.
Safety has always been a strong suit for the XUV300, earning a 5-star adult safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests. The facelift might aim for Bharat NCAP certification as well. The current model already boasts of over two dozen safety features, including 6 airbags, hill hold assist, corner braking control, electronic stability program (ESP), front parking sensors, and all 4-disc brakes.
Under the hood, the XUV300 facelift will retain its existing powertrain options. These include the 1.2-litre turbo petrol MPI engine (110 PS, 200 Nm), the 1.2-litre turbo petrol GDI engine (130 PS, 230 Nm), and the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine (117 PS, 300 Nm). Transmission choices encompass a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AutoShift, providing a range of options to serve different driving preferences.
