KTM and Husqvarna will launch street-legal electric bikes in 2025, featuring a 5.54kWh battery and shared chassis.
KTM AG is gearing up to introduce its electric motorcycles to the market in 2025. While KTM has previously released electric enduro bikes internationally, the upcoming models will be street-legal, marking a significant step forward for the company.
According to documents leaked from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the U.S., KTM will debut the Electric Freeride. This road-legal electric motorcycle is expected to hit the streets next year. At the same time, Husqvarna will unveil the Electric Pioneer. Although the Electric Pioneer will feature a unique design, it will share the same chassis and motor as the KTM models.
Both the KTM and Husqvarna electric motorcycles will be equipped with a 5.54kWh lithium-ion battery pack. While specific details about the electric motor’s output are not yet available, it is expected that these models will include the same removable battery technology seen in the KTM Freeride E LV concept.
The KTM Freeride E LV, one of the earlier electric concepts from KTM, featured a swappable battery pack, a feature we anticipate will be present in the upcoming production models. More information about these electric motorcycles is expected to be released towards the end of the year.
Stay tuned for further updates as we approach the launch date for these exciting new additions to the electric motorcycle market.
