The 2024 Kia Carnival faces a recall in Australia due to a potential steering issue, affecting over 6,000 vehicles. Kia offers free fixes.
A recall for the 2024 Kia Carnival, generally named as the Kia KA4 in Australia, has been announced by Kia Motors. A possible safety concern with the vehicle's power-assisted steering system is the reason for the recall. Around 6,150 vehicles are affected by this problem, leading Kia to take quick steps to protect driver safety.
The recall notice states that a manufacturing flaw may cause the primary wire harness in the affected vehicles to come into contact with the steering column shaft. This touch may harm the harness and result in the inability to employ power-assisted steering. Kia Australia has guaranteed impacted owners that there would be no further costs for replacing or adjusting the wiring harness.
The recall affects approximately 6,150 units of the 2024 Kia Carnival in Australia. Kia is advising owners to contact their local dealership to schedule a repair appointment. Kia's proactive approach underscores the brand's commitment to vehicle safety and customer satisfaction.
The 2024 Kia Carnival was recently introduced in India, with a starting price of ₹63.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest model boasts significant upgrades, including a more aggressive, SUV-inspired design. The front fascia is dominated by a larger grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, and L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs), giving it a bold road presence.
The 2024 Carnival moves away from its previous van-like appearance to embrace a more rugged, adventure-ready persona. This transformation is further accentuated by new 18-inch alloy wheels, side body cladding, and connected LED tail lights at the rear, aligning with Kia’s latest design language seen on models like the updated Seltos and Sonet.
Inside, the 2024 Carnival offers a luxurious cabin with a brown and black color scheme and a seven-seat layout. The dual panoramic curved display includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. Other premium features include a 12-speaker Bose sound system, an 11-inch heads-up display (HUD), powered and ventilated seats in the first two rows, wireless phone charging, three-zone climate control, and electrically operated sliding doors.
The Carnival comes equipped with advanced safety features, including eight airbags, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and front and rear parking sensors. Additionally, it features a 360-degree camera and a level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, which offers 23 safety functions such as forward collision avoidance, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
