Hyundai Motor India reports 51,101 domestic sales in September 2024, a 5.79% YoY decline. SUV sales contributed 70%, while exports saw a 24.71% drop.
Hyundai is one of the most reputed brands in India and over the long period of time they have held the second position in monthly sales chart. Although they are facing decline in yearly sales but shown growth in monthly sales. But the thing is Mahindra is slightly behind Hyundai and there is a possibility that they can surpass Hyundai.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), one of India's top automotive manufacturers, released its sales report for September 2024. The company recorded total sales of 64,201 units, including both domestic and export numbers.
Hyundai has three best selling models: Creta, Venue and i10. On top of that they have just launched their Hyundai Aura with dual CNG cylinders and Facelifted Alcazar. So let’s see if it helps in their sales number growth or not.
Highest-Ever SUV Contribution: SUVs accounted for 70% of the total sales in September 2024, marking Hyundai’s strongest performance in this segment.
Record CNG Sales: The contribution of CNG-powered vehicles stood at 13.8% of the total sales, another record for the company.

Hyundai's performance in Q3 2024 was 1,91,939 units (domestic + exports), an 8.50% YoY decrease from the 2,09,777 units sold in Q3 2023. Exports decreased by 17.07% while domestic sales decreased by 5.75%.
YTD (January to September 2024): During this time, Hyundai sold 4,59,411 domestic units, a modest 1.02% gain over the prior year. There was a 1.44% decline in exports, with 1,18,300 units sent. Hyundai's YTD sales (including exports) totaled 5,77,711 units, indicating a slight YoY increase.
Hyundai continues to strengthen its SUV portfolio, which has been a major contributor to its sales growth in India. The company is also expanding its CNG offerings, catering to evolving consumer preferences. Despite the drop in overall sales, Hyundai remains focused on delivering innovation and customer satisfaction through new launches and product enhancements.
