Hyundai’s inventory levels have become tight and the problem will soon start slow production
SEOUL: In the Wednesday report by the financial times, South Korea's Hyundai Motor is anticipating manufacturing interruptions beginning in April due to the widespread chip shortage affecting auto manufacturers globally.
Due to the insufficient inventory, the inventory levels have become very low and due to this soon the production will become slow, according to a person with firsthand knowledge of the condition of Hyundai.
According to a UN official who spoke with Reuters in February Hyundai had been altering the manufacturing of some of its less popular models, like the Sonata, to save money.
This month, an official stated that production had not reduced for famous models like the Palisade, New Tucson, and the Genesis GV models but that the auto manufacturer had reduced the production of less famous models over the weekends and this too has affected the weekly production plans.
Hyundai, on the other hand, did not have an immediate response.
