Hyundai Alcazar, the 6 and 7 seater Hyundai SUV is now globally unveiled. The car borrows a lot from the other cars from the brand and seems a value filled proportioned if priced correctly. While Hyundai Alcazar is based on Hyundai Creta’s platform, it has a longer wheelbase of 2,760 mm which is 150mm longer than the donor vehicle. It borrows a whole host of features and equipment from the Creta. This makes Alcazar longest in its segment which comprises Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV500.
In terms of exterior, the front is completely inspired by Hyundai Creta except for the radiator grille which has a different pattern. It gets the same headlight units and front gates. The bumper gets a different touch to distinguish between Creta and Alcazar. On the side, the car clearly shows its elongated wheelbase to accommodate two more seats. The Alcazar gets a quarter glass after the C-Pillar which wasn’t there on the Creta. There is a set of new Alloy wheels which may measure 18-inches.At the rear, the car is expected to get a major overhaul and may not borrow anything from the donor vehicle. It will carry a fresh styling and is expected to get a boot mounted number plate housing bracketed by a new set of tail lights.Hyundai Alcazar interior will be available with 6 seat and 7 seat configuration. It will have one touch tumble function to make access for the 3rd row. There will be a panoramic sunroof on offer, probably borrowed from Creta. The dashboard is expected to get a 10.25 inch touch screen infotainment system along with Bose sound system. It may also get connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360° camera, wireless phone charging and automatic climate control. This new Hyundai SUV won’t be getting the Petrol engine from Creta, rather it will have Tucson and Elantra 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out 159hp of power and 192Nm of torque. This power is more than the Tucson and Elantra by 7hp.

There will be a diesel powertrain on offer too which also does duty in Creta. The 1.5-litre diesel engine will churn out 115PS of power and 250Nm of torque. Both the engines will come mated to 6 speed automatic and manual transmissions. We expect the new ALcazar should fall in the price bracket of Rs. 12 lakhs to Rs. 20 lakhs ex-showroom. Do you think this would be an ideal price bracket for this new SUV? Let us know in the comments below.
