Honda recalls select 300cc and 350cc motorcycles in India over wheel speed sensor and camshaft issues, offering free replacements.

Honda Issues Recall for Select 300cc and 350cc Motorcycles in India

Honda has initiated a voluntary recall for select 300cc and 350cc motorcycles in India, addressing potential issues with wheel speed sensors and camshafts. The recall affects models including CB300R, CB300F, CB350, CB350RS, and H'ness 350, manufactured between October 2020 and July 2024. Honda is contacting affected owners individually through various means, and customers can also check their vehicle's status by entering the VIN on the Honda BigWing website.

The recall addresses two separate issues:

1. Front and Rear Wheel Speed Sensor:

  • Affects motorcycles manufactured from October 2020 to April 2024
  • Issue: Improper molding procedure during sensor manufacturing
  • Potential risks: Exposure to water, malfunctioning of traction control, speedometer, and ABS
  • Worst-case scenario: Ineffective braking

2. Camshaft Comp:

  • Affects specific units of CB350, CB350RS, and H'ness CB350
  • Manufactured between June 2024 and July 2024
  • Issue: Improper manufacturing process of the camshaft
  • Potential impact: Vehicle's optimal functioning

Honda has not disclosed the total number of affected vehicles. All replacements will be carried out free of cost, regardless of the motorcycle's warranty status, at Honda BigWing dealerships across India.

This is not the first recall for Honda's 350cc models. In December of the previous year, a recall was issued for CB350 and CB350RS due to issues with the brake light and bank angle sensor.

Owners of potentially affected motorcycles are encouraged to check their vehicle's status and follow Honda's instructions for the recall process. The company's proactive approach aims to address these issues before they can lead to any safety concerns or performance problems.
