Hero Splendor+ receives its first front disc brake option in 30 years with the XTEC variant, along with modern features, aiming to enhance safety and maintain market relevance.
Hero MotoCorp has introduced an upgrade to its bestselling Splendor+ 100cc commuter model, marking the first time in 30 years that the bike has received an upgraded braking setup. The Hero Splendor+ now features a front disc brake option, enhancing its braking capabilities. This new variant, the Hero Splendor+ XTEC, is priced at ₹83,461 (ex-showroom), costing ₹3,550 more than the drum brake variant.
The disc brake variant sees a slight increase in weight, now with a kerb weight of 113.6 kg, which is 1.6 kg heavier than the standard version. The suspension setup remains unchanged, featuring telescopic front forks and 5-step adjustable dual shocks at the rear.
Braking performance has been significantly improved with the addition of a 240 mm front disc brake, while the rear retains the 130 mm drum brake. Lower variants continue to use 130 mm drum brakes on both wheels. All models come equipped with an Integrated Braking System (IBS) for enhanced safety.
Buyers can choose from three color options: Black Sparkling Blue, Black Tornado Grey, and Black Red. This update strives to maintain Splendor+'s strong position in urban and rural markets, where it has long been a preferred choice for commuters seeking reliability and efficiency.
