The second-largest manufacturer in India, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a subsidiary of the South Korean automotive behemoth Hyundai Motor Company, is prepared to kick off the new year with a boom. At the 2023 Auto Expo, the company is rumoured to be introducing and debuting a few new automobiles. The company apparently reportedly has a full launch timetable for the entire 2023 calendar year. In 2023, Hyundai plans to introduce about 7 new vehicles, including two electric vehicles and a few sedans, SUVs, and hatchbacks.
The premium all-electric crossover, the Ioniq 5, will make its official debut as the first of Hyundai's upcoming releases. The start of reservations for the vehicle was just announced by the corporation. The Ioniq 5 can be reserved by interested consumers for Rs 1 lakh.
There are two battery pack variants for the IONIQ 5 available internationally: a 58 kWh single motor configuration with 169 horsepower and a claimed range of 383 kilometres, and a 72.6 kWh twin motor battery pack with 325 horsepower and a claimed range of 481 kilometres. The EV's noteworthy features include advanced heads-up displays, remote parking assistance, dual-zone climate control, and level 2 ADAS.
Hyundai's Creta, one of the most well-liked SUVs, is about to get yet another redesign. In a number of international regions, including South Africa, Thailand, and Indonesia, Hyundai has formally introduced the Creta Facelift. While keeping the same mechanical specifications as the outgoing model, the facelifted SUV will have significant aesthetic upgrades. The mid-size SUV will undergo significant revisions, including a completely new front fascia that closely resembles that of its older sibling, the Hyundai Tucson. Additionally, it will adhere to Hyundai's "Sensuous Sportiness" design philosophy. The majority of the front fascia is covered by the new parametric front grille, which also has well-integrated LED DRLs in its fin-shaped parts. There won't be many modifications to the incoming SUV, save from the front.
A new mini-SUV from Hyundai is about to be unveiled in order to take on the likes of the immensely popular vehicle micro SUV Punch. Reports claim that the Hyundai compact SUV has been seen doing test drives in South Korea, which has led to the new product's return to India.A test vehicle for the previously stated SUV was recently seen parked in a parking lot covered in thick camouflage. The Venue subcompact SUV from Hyundai will be placed above this small SUV. It has been rumored that Hyundai will display it during the 2023 Auto Show. If so, we might expect this micro-SUV to make its debut in India sometime in the second half of 2023. It will be introduced as the primary rival to the Tata Punch and Citroen C3.
The 2023 Verna makeover will come next on the schedule. The brand may see great success with the all-new Verna because of its radical outward and interior design changes. The all-new Verna has been sighted road-testing India for quite some time now, and most lately, the interior of this next sedan was also photographed.
Recent evidence indicates that the all-new Hyundai Verna will be the last diesel vehicle available in the C- segment that is in decline due to the growing dominance of small SUVs. The 1.5 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine from Hyundai will be kept, but it will have new emission technology to meet the Real Time Driving Emissions (RDE) rules that will be in place starting in 2023.
Hyundai will probably also debut the updated Aura when the C-segment Verna goes on sale. Only a few changes are anticipated to be made to the rather well-liked compact sedan. The upcoming sedan, like the updated Grand i10 Nios, would reportedly feature Hyundai's Sensuous Sportiness design language. It is likely to sport new headlights, a new front bumper, and a new front grille. The manufacturer might also purchase a new set of alloy wheels to replace the current ones. Regarding the drivetrain, the new model lineup will instead provide 83 horsepower, 1.2 litres of four-cylinder gasoline, and 100 horsepower, 1.0 litres of three-cylinder gasoline, replacing the diesel engine that was previously available.
The Grand I10 Nios, the facelifted version of the Aura's hatchback sibling, is also scheduled to go on sale from the South Korean automaker. Speculations suggest that, like its sedan counterpart, the Grand i10 Nios will have a newly designed front bumper, LED DRLs in the shape of boomerangs adjacent to the bumper, and the brand's Sensuous Sportiness design language. There will be some adjustments made within the cabin as well. The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios's interior styling and upholstery may also see some minor tweaks.
The 1.2L normally aspirated and 1.0L turbocharged gasoline engines will still be included in this hatchback's powertrain, according to Hyundai, which indicates that it won't undergo any alterations under the hood. The 1.2L normally aspirated and 1.0L turbocharged petrol engines, respectively, produce 83bhp with 114Nm and 100bhp with 172Nm. Additionally, a CNG fuel option will be made available.
Hyundai will release the most recent model of its SUV Kona in 2023. According to how it appears, the SUV has significantly changed from the previous model, with an entirely new appearance and improved amenities. The company only recently introduced the SUV in international markets. The Hyundai Kona EV will have a very divisive appearance with pixelated lighting, a pair of unusual 19-inch alloy wheels, and a shut-off air inlet with pixel-inspired motifs. The new crossover features a wheelbase that is 60 mm larger, is 150 mm longer, and is 25 mm wider than the current model. The Ioniq 5 EV had a significant influence on the inside, which has also undergone a significant makeover.
