Toyota is gearing up for its first launch this year with the debut of the Toyota Taisor, a mid-size SUV. While it's a redesigned Maruti Fronx, we can expect a fresh design twist.
Key Highlights:
Toyota Taisor: Toyota has officially confirmed that it will be launching its first offering of this year tomorrow. Yes, we are talking about the upcoming mid-size SUV, Toyota Taisor. The Toyota Taisor is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Fronx. The compact SUV is scheduled to launch on 3rd April i.e. tomorrow.
Taking a hint from the automaker’s trademarked “Urban Cruiser Taisor” name, it is expected that Toyota will utilize this moniker for the upcoming SUV. Despite being a rebadged version of the Fronx, the Toyota Taisor is expected to come with a different design language. Are you curious to know more about the upcoming SUV?
Check out 5 important things about the Toyota Taisor before it makes its official debut tomorrow.
As mentioned above, the upcoming Taisor will be introduced as the rebadged avatar of Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The upcoming Mid-size SUV will largely carry a similar silhouette. But the automaker will make some major tweaks in the design to give it an original Toyota touch.
The mid-size SUV will get a highly tweaked grille with Toyota badging, a new set of headlights, DRLs and a redesigned bumper. These design changes will contribute to making Taisor an all-new product instead of just being a new Maruti Fronx with a Toyota logo.
Being a rebadged version of the Fronx crossover, the Taisor’s interior is expected to have a similar design to the Fronx. But there is a huge probability of alteration in the interiors as well. In terms of alterations, the Toyota Taisor will come with a new interior colour scheme to be easily differentiated from the Fronx. For this, the automaker is expected to use lighter colours than the black and burgundy used in the Fronx crossover.

In terms of features, the Toyota Taisor is expected to get all the features Maruti offers with Fronx. This includes a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, and heads-up display among others. In terms of safety, the Taisor will offer up to 6 airbags, an electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, hill hold assist and ISOFIX child seat anchors
The powertrain specs for the upcoming Toyota Taisor are expected to resemble the Maruti Fronx. The mid-size will expectedly come equipped with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol unit which is capable of making 90 PS of power. The powerhouse will be coupled with a 5-speed AMT or 5-speed manual gearbox option.
In addition to the above-listed engine, there’s a decent chance that Toyota will offer a 1-litre turbo petrol unit with the Taisor. This powerhouse churns out the maximum power of 100 PS and a peak torque of 148 Nm. This powertrain will be mated with a 5-speed or a 6-speed AMT unit.
Being a redesigned Maruti Fronx, the prices of the Toyota Taisor is expected to be introduced with a similar price tag. According to us, the upcoming Toyota Taisor will start at around Rs 8 lakh and go up to Rs. 13 lakh for the top-end variant. All prices mentioned here are ex-showroom.
As anticipation is building for the official launch of Toyota Taisor, buyers are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to experience this unique offering of Toyota in the mid-size SUV segment. Packed with advanced features, performance and aesthetics, Taisor promises to make a remarkable impact in the automotive industry.
